The Petanque Player
Another of Leeds' many sculptures. This one, from the year 2000 is cast in bronze. It was commissioned and donated to Leeds by the Scurragh Wainwright Charity to mark the annual boules tournament in Leeds. The sculptor was Roger Burnett - not the motorbiker! The sculpture is sited next to a real boules court in the square, to encourage folk to play petanque. Leeds twin town is Lille in France. Morris Singer Art Foundry.
