The Antiques Shop

A proper Aladdin's Cave in the heart of Chester. Peter is a hugely knowledgeable and extremely friendly guy who could not have been more helpful. He practically dismantled his entire window display so I could take a closer look at some items. Nothing was too much trouble.

What an amazing shop, he had such a variety of things! The man who owns it was such a nice man with incredible knowledge. I bought something from there and I’m so happy. Will be back and can’t recommend enough!

We went to this shop today and we were stunt how rude the owner was. He basically kicked us out saying “if you don’t know what exactly you want you better just go, my shop is not for browsing”. We still talk about it hours later, how bizarre the whole experience was)))

Had the best conversation about antique in this shop. He is very knowledgeable and helpful.xx thank you

I visited the Antique Shop in Chester at the beginning of November and what a marvellous little treasure in the heart of Chester.From antique phones, pewter, glasses, pottery, furniture, antique pieces turned into beautiful lamps, maps, prints, candle holders…If you are looking for a meaningful treasure, Peter will guide you to find the perfect one for you. He will share a story from each piece he holds in the shop. The knowledge and advise is incredible. I will certainly go back and buy presents or décor items.I was after wooden boxes, and he advised in different ones he had in his Watergate shop and his new furniture shop just round the corner in Crook street. If you are on a budget he will help you find something too.Super helpful, brilliant and engaging service, if you don’t buy anything, I can guarantee you that you will have learn something from Peter by the time you have left.

Visited the store today after looking at the reviews and was looking forward to having a look round and treat myself, it started well when the gentleman greeted us a the door asked if he could help, and I answed by saying I was going to have a look around and his response was a bit off, he told me he was not open even though there was 4 to 5 people in the shop, he added that he didn't sell to people who were looking around!!, and said I could look in the window,. I collect a multitude of things and I'm sure I'm not the only person who doesn't know what they like until they see it, so a bit dissappinted, I don't usual put a review on.

Fantastic shop, very friendly atmosphere and has a wide selection to pick from. Fair prices and good quality. Worth stopping by even if you're not looking for anything specific. I can't recommend it highly enough!

First visit to this shop today the man was so rude to me! Every question i asked he was very condescending and patronising and made me feel incredibly uncomfortable! I wanted to buy some of the bottles for my business but i shall not be returning. Worst customer service iv experienced in a long time.(The shop owner has now lied in his reply to me yes it was 100% open and i have got the right shop) i also write negative reviews when I receive shocking customer service! So maybe if you treat your customers better and didn’t lie you might get better reviews.
