We paid a visit to the York Antiques Centre for the first time, and despite its unassuming exterior, the expansive collection within was a pleasant surprise. There are three floors with a huge range of antiques including jewelry, fossils, collectibles, and memorabilia. We were there on a Saturday afternoon which proved very busy, since it's a historic building it's quite compact so requires some patience when busy as it was single-file most of the way. Nonetheless, the visit was great I was particularly intrigued by the historical displays, showcasing items from the bronze age, roman, World War 1 and 2, and Napoleonic eras. We ended up purchasing a small bronze figurine I highly recommend this store; it's likely to have something of interest for almost everyone, just be warey if you struggle with confined spaces.

This is an amazing treasure trove of antiques and collectables right in the heart of York City Centre. It is set on 3 floors and packed to the brim with all manor of unusual objects. I was absolutely delighted to find these Harry Potter toys hidden amongst the Star Wars and Doctor Who collections. This store also had the widest range of Winston Churchill Toby jugs I've ever seen!!

Very interesting antiques shop. You could spend hours there browsing through old medals, coins, jewelery, etc. A good collection of old swords too. I will visit it again.

You really need a full day in here to do it any justice. Ground floor is mostly jewellery, but lower ground is where you could lose a lot of time working through the memorabilia from your youth. Huge selection of antiques, thoughtfully curated into what seemed like 100's of showcases. Dog friendly too to top it off.

If you like looking and shopping for antiques then we'll worth a visit. Historic old building packed with stock. Informal feel to the shop, you are free to wander without feeling any pressure to buy. Items at all prices from just a few pounds upwards. Staff helpful and friendly - happy to show items on request from cabinets. Set over several floors so if you have mobility issues bear this in mind - it is an old building so lots of stairs. Tea room available for refreshments.

The Antiques Centre York is quite a place, a real step back in time. I've only ever seen one bigger such establishment which was in Blackpool. Everywhere you look there are cabinets filled with porcelain, curiosities, memorabilia, stamps, oldwar helmets & a myriad of everything else you'll never find again in the shops. There's basement, ground floor & 1st floor levels literally packed with eye candy, very well presented & clean, with roaming staff checking if you'd like to see anything closer. I'd love to take a longer closer look on my next visit to York. An amazing place.

This place is a treasure cave. Full of gems. We werent their twice to explore. Ended up buying a decent priced vintage blazer. They have everything from watches, jewellery, clothes, books, trinket boxes, military and so forth. It looks small but is about 3 floors and even includes a little cafe. Staff that i encountered were friendly too. Highly recommend even just to browse.

A family heirloom was stolen from me earlier this month and several people sent me a screenshot of an identical one being sold on their website. I personally believed this was likely a mistake and they didn't have the item but wanted to go in and check just in case. After all, wouldn't they need to know if they had a missing item listed for sale?I tried to talk to someone in the shop but they were incredibly rude: they refused go help me figure out what had happened. They wouldn't tell me when the advert was posted, denied they even posted their own listings online, refused to tell me who was selling it, refused to look for the item, and refused to contact the dealer or the police. They refused to investigate or talk to me at all. I had to leave and call the police myself. Eventually they sent a message over Facebook claiming the online listing was a mistake and the item was sold in 2018 - which would have been when it was bought for me by my late dad. This means that an item has been listed as for sale for nearly half a decade despite the fact that they don't even have it. As a result, I would seriously avoid buying anything they have listed online as you have no guarantee it even exists. I would also avoid shopping in person considering how incredibly rude the woman who I talked to was. I've never had a retail worker act so disgustingly. They have also since lied to people claiming that they tried to explain they need time to investigate (they never said this, and outright refused to do so, even laughing in my face when I suggested we call the police). I had two other people with me who heard and saw their outrageous behaviour so the fact that they are willing to be publicly dishonest about their own words is truly shocking.

This is such a fun place to Potter around in. They have different rooms for different types of things: jewellery, costume jewellery, pottery, tat, clothes and random trinkets. We had a really fun time browsing through all of the really interesting cabinets. There are some really beautiful shiny rings! It is very well organised and large.

Great antiques centre, especially if you like smaller items such as jewellery and watches. I spent ages in there perusing all the different cabinets and could have spent much longer if time had permitted. There were some lovely pieces of ceramics and glassware, too. It's a great place to visit if you're looking for gift inspiration or simply want to kill some time and escape the rain!
