Visited this centre as part of a tour to learn about what the staff do to preserve and safeguard millions of different archived material. It forms the lead office for smaller units in the five Metropolitan areas that cover West Yorkshire. Go online to view the various types of records held and if they interest you, go along and request a view of them. There is a car park a few minutes walk away st £2.50 for the day. Pre-order the documents as the archivists have to get them from miles and miles of shelving.This is a hidden gem for anyone rearching past history of the area.

I went to a History Wardrobe event in the archives last week. First time I had been there. Staff very helpful and friendly. Talk was great as usual. Facilities very clean. Parking could be better.

Absolutely brilliant Anne Lister diaries exhibition. So worth visiting, I came on Friday early afternoon and was the only one there. The exhibition is so interesting, the access to the centre for anyone with a pram or pushchair is very easy. The lady on reception is so friendly too. Definitely worth a visit!
