We have used the Pars Rug Gallery in Romsey over a number of years, and both cleaning and restoration has always been meticulous. Their professional staff have been most helpful, whether the job requiring attention has been relatively small or quite extensive. Their warehouse in Southampton also has a wide selection of antique and modern oriental rugs available for sale.

I am happy to recommend Pars Rug Gallery to anyone with antique Persian rugs in need of cleaning and/or repair.My rugs were assessed and a variety of options for proposed work were explained to me, from returning them in their current state, cleaning, patching, partial renovation or full renovation. The pros and cons (and costs) of each option were laid out and no pressure was applied. Advice was sought and given.A high quality job ensued - the rugs have been transformed - and they should be good for another 130 years.

I recently had an old runner, which I had bought in Turkey, cleaned and repaired by Pars gallery. The colours have been restored and it now glows in reds and russet and looks set to serve for another long spell. I recommend their service and workmanship.

Pars renovated two high quality rugs for me that my mother's dog had chewed chunks out. The repairs are entirely invisible. One can only imagine that such superlative workmanship and skills at this level will sadly not be around forever. We are delighted to have 'taken the leap' to restore the rugs. Rug came back ruinedOur rug had a small stain and we handed it to Pars Rug Gallery to be cleaned in early December. We only just got it back. What was once a beautiful Afghan rug in a lovely dark blue is now completely ruined. We paid more than £300 to have it cleaned and I wish we never had. The stain was hardly noticeable and it now looks like the original dark blue colour is actually a stain with the remainder of the rug looking like it’s been bleached. The rug also does not smell very nice. The customer service was not good and we kept phoning back to try and get updates. Looking at the state the rug, I can definitely say that I would not recommend this cleaning service.

I had 3 Persian rugs which Pars Rugs collected & took to their workshop for various work to be carried out on them. They had been in the family for a generation and had a lot of wear and tear over the years. Pars restored them to their former glory and I cannot say how pleased I am with the results. The restoration workmanship is second to none & the genuine care and attention to detail is amazing. One rug, which is now a hanging rug, is greatly admired and I am always delighted to say its all down to Pars. If you have a Persian rug in need of attention these are the people to go to.

Perhaps the strangest retail experience we have ever had, helpful, knowledgeable and great customer service, until it wasn’t.In our search for a rug we visited the Pars Rug Gallery Warehouse in Southampton. The rug was to be a big feature of our room and we wanted something a little special but have little to no knowledge of this specialist market.We met Arash and he was very helpful, the rugs are heavy and hard work to move and lay out but nothing was too much trouble. The warehouse has a wide range of beautiful, handmade vintage and new Persian rugs to choose from. Arash was knowledgeable, friendly and professional, he shared his experience and made some excellent suggestions which helped us immensely.We settled on two possible options and were given the option to try both in our home for 24 hours, this surprised us given the value but was a great help. As agreed, I spoke with Arash the following day and, as we still had not fully decided what to do, I advised that, for now, we would return both rugs at least for the time being. This was largely because understanding the pricing required more research, as with any vintage item it is not straightforward. I was advised that this was not a problem and that collection would be arranged, although I was happy to return the rugs, and that further options and example prices would be provided to help us. Excellent service to this point and I think we had concluded that ultimately we would be purchasing a rug from Pars, as we were impressed with the help and knowledge.This was the last contact we received from anyone at Pars, despite an email confirming the conversation and subsequent phone call requesting collection of the rugs or alternatively a convenient time to return them, we could not get any meaningful response. After 3 weeks I returned the rugs, as having them at home was a concern,I felt it necessary to wait in the shop until I had a receipt and subsequently emailed Pars explaining my reasons and my disappointment that we were unable to do business. I have never received a reply.I cannot imagine that my experience is common, no successful business can lose prospective customers like this and that there must be an underlying reason. I genuinely disappointed and remain not a little mystified.

I was looking for a rug restoration and contacted three companies online. Pars had by far the best response to my initial query. I was able to talk to Olivia about how it worked and else to pictures to get a rough idea of what could be done. The edges and ends were fraying and there were worn patches. The rug was then collected and cleaned and I had a video tour of the damage and what could be done. Arash was able to tell me about the provenance of the rug and calmed my worries about the different options.The only negative was that I had to chase for updates on the work. Arash let me know it was due to increased demand over lockdown. My rug was restored in the agreed timeframe to a very high standard.I definitely recommend Pars Rug Gallery.

We originally contacted PARS Rug Gallery for a quote to get an antique rug cleaned. The rug was photographed and sent to the workshop for assessment. We received an initial email detailing the process involved and a guide price and within a week had the full assessment and quote. We decided to go ahead with the cleaning, which would also involve a new backing. During this time, we were contacted by Arash to ask if we would be interested in having the rug restored as it was quite heavily worn in some areas. He provided some background information about the rug’s age and history and quoted for repair. It was not going to be cheap and despite our wish to have it repaired, it was unaffordable at the time. Arash discussed other options with us which gave us flexibility and the chance to save for the repairs and we decided to go ahead. There was no hard sell at any time. We are thrilled with the results. The rug is now clean, re-backed and restored to its former glory. The repairs are so good, it’s impossible to tell which bits have been restored. I would highly recommend PARS Rug Gallery for their services and for their professionalism.

I was bequeathed my rug from my Father. It was some 15-20 years old and had not been cleaned, was stained, and was in need of some restoration, and new fringing. I found Pars Rug Gallery on the internet, and I am so pleased that I chose them to take on the work. The end result exceeded my expectations, it looks brand new, completely restored, colours are vibrant, the rug is clean as a whistle, with new fringing. I couldn't be more pleased. Ruth at Pars Rug Gallery was always friendly, polite and helpful whenever I called, she is the epitome of superb customer service. Nothing was too much trouble for Arish, he delivered the rug on time and even carried it into the room for us.
