The Hideaway@Baxby Manor

It was our first time glamping so was not sure what to expect, the actual wooden house was spacious and mattress was comfortable but the lighting was not really adequate...maybe a bigger solar panel would be the answer! Facilities were spotless and the food was reasonably priced. The guy in the Office was friendly and knowledgeable. A lovely experience

Very peaceful camping area. The co-pod was cozy, owners were very accommodating. Although I didn't have cooking utensils, they found some for me to use. Definitely will consider returning.If you are needing to charge up your phone before you leave, note that there are charging spots in the shower building.

The Hobbit huts are awesome - quirky, spacious, and with a log burner to keep you warm in winter. The nearby toilets and showers are fantastic - clean, warm, and plenty of hot water. There's also a warm pot wash area and very useful drying room for wet weather.Barny, the owner, is very helpful and his pet dog (Juno) is a favourite of the kids.The mattresses in the huts are in need of renewing and whilst we loved the lack of power to them (as we were there for the outdoors), a bit of lighting would make a big difference in the winter months!There's great walking around the area and lots to do so this is a great base whatever you're into.

We've stayed here twice now, most recently in May half term. The facilities are second to none, super spotless with lots of eco friendly cleaning products around. The pizzas and nuggets went down a treat, my son said they were the best nuggets he'd ever had! There isn't a play park but our kids made friends with others and had a great time playing with planes, balls and general kids games. Our pitch was great, spacious and each with a fire pit. Highly recommend!!

This is a little gem of a place definitely out of the way of the hustle and bustle of modern day life .If you have kids there is a small park for them about 10-15mins backnup the drive turn right the left down the side of the house and you will see it .I really can not say enough good words about this place .from the pizza shack that has really good and not over priced pizzas and a really nice selection of breakfast items to the very modern and very clean bathrooms/ shower rooms .I was quite taken aback by them really as it was as if you ware in a really nice hotel to be honest .I would give the cider mill a look into as well very rustic and cobbled together. But I wouldn't recommend there flat cider as it was very close to vinegar and even when disguised with a dark fruit flavour wasn't nice .(And it wasn't just me everyone who left .left a half empty glass)

We stayed here recently for 2 nights as part of a road trip of North Yorkshire. The Kabina was excellent and had everything we needed. The area was so quiet and we enjoyed using the hot tub and roasting marshmallows over the fire pit. We also really enjoyed our meals from the Pizza Shack on site. We had pizza one evening and breakfast sandwiches the next morning, both were delicious. We will definitely book again.

Great location however arrogant hosting let’s it down. Poor facilities and really really cold! I’ve noticed arrogant replies to reviews - this is reflected in the hosting and people skills of the staff. I really went into this with high hopes but really me and my wife were let down

The facilities are excellent, they are well maintained and still feel brand new. We've only ever used a non electric tent pitch but they have a variety of electric hook ups and vehicle pitches, not to mention the hobbit huts and other new additions with hot tubs.The staff are always friendly and we love all pitches have camp fires. Our kids love it here and we'll be back again.

Third visit to Baxby Manor,This time rather than camping we decided to try an eco pod as it was just the two of us.As always could not fault it.Lovely little pod. Comfortable bed and just enough shelter outside to still relax even when the weather was poor.Highly recommend

We went as a family to The Hideaway for a two night stay and definitely would agree with them having the Best Campsite award! The site is beautiful with great facilities and the shower block and wash up were immaculately clean. It felt very busy when we visited but there was plenty of space between us and the neighbouring tents, it wasn’t rowdy and things quietened down by about 9pm. The owner was very helpful in directing us to walks for little legs and a well equipped local play area. There is a well stocked (and reasonably priced!) shop and excellent pizzas from the little pizza shack. Our kids absolutely loved it and fell head over heels for the owner’s gorgeous puppy, Juno! All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We definitely would go back.
