Called in for a drink on Saturday 9th with a few friend’s the pub was very busy but we was served quickly considering how busy it was. Prices very reasonable and staff were exceptionally welcoming. We used to drink in this pub many years ago so I was really glad to hear it had reopened I would definitely recommend this pub as a first port of call which is very close to the train station. Ooh nearly forgot to mention we managed to get some free food too which was lovely.

The Elephant and Castle is a pub I used to frequent a lot of years ago when when having a night out in wakefield , cant be missed with it's Enamel brick Victorian look . The bar staff were polite and all the usual beers and a couple of craft beers were on tap . Nice cosy little pub with a pool table aswell

Recent change of owner has not improved the place, IMHO, however Eric was a hard act to follow. It's been done out in a sort of brushed steel and wood effect that jars with the traditional and thankfully protected frontage. Wide range of beers is an improvement, almost double the price is not. Still worth a visit but not the place it was.

Have been a good customer for years but tonight my partner got ignored at the bar. The lady served others and ignored him. We won't be coming back.

The young lady behind the bar was very bossy & jobsworth....almost to the point of being rude. Me thinks she's in the wrong job and shouldn't be let loose with all that power..!!
