What an amazing place to have in Aberdeenshire. RSPB Troup head is a must visit place to see the massive and beautiful Gannets, with a 2m wingspan these seabirds are huge. You can get extremely close to them, especially on parts of the main path, please respect their space and do not scare them to take a photograph. I've seen too many local Wildife Photographers" do this to get a shot

Stunning scenery and wildlife. Well worth a visit. Paths are well marked and if you're adventurous, there is walking along the cliff edge path. Take some binoculars with you and a drink as you will probably end up walking further than you think. Lots of different birds to discover along the cliffs. There are several benches to perch up on and have a longer look out to sea to spot a dolphin or minke whale if you're lucky. Great place after dark to star gaze and watch the wildlife come alive. We only saw 1 other chap on a mountain bike on the day we visited and only a handful of folk on our previous visit in May 2019. Love this place!

Lovely short walk to the Gannet colony at Troup Head, Sunday 24.09.23 where not only did we see the Gannets close up but also saw the local school of Dolphins, bonus. Its a great natural place unspoilt by any visitor centre etc and worth the walk.

Great walk and spectacular views. Bear in mind that there is no facilities on site, parking not too big tho but it seems nice t to get very busy if so.

Brilliant location for spotting gannets. The water was amazingly clear, with no litter in sight! The walking routes could have been a little more clearer - we ended up on the wrong side of the farmers field! Apart from that, it was a brilliant little walk.

Amazing close up views of the Gannet population, beautiful birds up close. A range of walks through lovely farmland with sea views.

Beautiful spot. Lots of gannets around, also kittiwakes, great cormorant, shags. Both kittiwakes and gannets had young ones - the gannets ranging from tipy cotton balls. In their nests to juveniles. Kittiwakes mostly the interestingly coloured teenagers". You can get very close to the cliffs and see these amazing beasts close up. The cliff Edge is unprotected so be careful!"

The direction signs are quite small as per usual with RSPB sites and you drive through a farm to get to the carpark. The site is free to visit as there are no on-site facilities but donations can be given. I would advise as not suitable for young children as there are some cliff areas which are not fenced off / would be easy for a child to slip through. We love coming here at this time of year to see the gannets, kittiwakes, guillemots and razorbills. Puffins arrive during May. You'll see the breeding pairs of gannets rubbing beaks when the male returns to the nest site. It really is lovely to see. There's a long cliff edge route and a shorter route. The longer route takes you to Burnmouth Viewpoint nd you can continue on that path past Crovie Farm then back into Northfield Farm via the main (but not busy) road in a circular walk. The shorter route cuts back to the carpark the same way you come in
