Sue is a hero - whilst i'm sure she is great with all breeds - I want to give a call out to owners of Border Collies.Florie, our one year old is the most loving and joyous of dogs. That said, her recall was bad, she could at the drop of a hat take an instant dislike to someone and had a habit of nipping at runners and children playing. Yup OK natural herding instinct you might say - but add that to her habit of jumping up at you - if you didn't know her she could be quite intimidating. She also had separation anxiety. Well OMG Sue took Florie in hand and two weeks later we have a different dog!!! Still our lovely little girl she no longer lurches herself at anyone is far calmer and so so obedient. Sue trains the dog by making YOU the centre of its world rather than stressing about what else is going on around you and the dog. Walks are ongoing games and done in such a way that the dog learns self control. Sue has given us so so many more skills to build our loving relationship with our little Florie.Be warned - Sue will expect you to do your bit" and is a plain talker - but I like that in a person and she knows her stuff - more than that she knows exactly how to get the best from your canine companion. Many thanks Sue - my doggie heroine"

Sue’s dog training has been invaluable, literally life changing, for us. We can now take Tess, our gorgeous Labrador, anywhere with us.It used to be very stressful walking on lead with her as she was pulling constantly, lunging at cats, birds and other things. With a strong dog that is a problem. She is now an absolute angel with people commenting how well behaved she is. It is a delighted to walk with her.Sue has trained Tess and, probably more importantly me, so I am a better dog mum and Tess understands what’s expected of her.We have also done a lot of work on impulse control which was at the root of many of our issues. Now, not only is she very well behaved and obedient but our relationship has become (surprisingly) even stronger.Sue really understands dogs and she loves them dearly. She is very loving but also very firm - love and firmness are a winning combination.

We would highly recommend using Educating Rover, Sue Harper helped us enormously 10 years ago with her skills and devotion to change our rather aggressive rescue Terrier into a loveable obedient family pet. Now we have returned to Sue for help with our rescue Border Collie pup. Sue, with her deep understanding of dog ethology makes training fun and enjoyable. Not only has Sue built the dogs confidence, she has also built ours. Cannot praise her enough.

I took my 9 month sheepdog to Sue Harper's Sheep Safe training course. We both really enjoyed the course and learnt so much. With Sue's positive reward based training methods my dog has been transformed from being very unruly and not listening to me into a very well behaved responsive dog who loves training games. I don't know what I would have done without Sue!

I have nothing but praise for Sue's training skills. She is very experienced and uses praise, repetition, consistency and rewards. She gives very clear commands and it's obvious from her relationship with the dog, and her own dogs, that she cares very much. It's amazing what she achieves in a short time. My nine month old labradoodle was starting to chase sheep but now can be walked through sheep with confidence. She also is now very reliable on the recall. Sue not only trains the dogs, she trains the owner! Excellent value.

We took our dog, a 3 year old terrier cross, to Sue Harper for a 2 week long residential training course. Within ten minutes of arriving as we sat over a cup of tea, our dog was lying quietly and attentively at Sue’s feet whereas he would normally have been running around and making a noise in a new situation such as this.We had detailed reports by email from Sue during the dog’s time with her. When we went back after 2 weeks we had an afternoon and a morning’s training with Sue and the dog. This was really valuable and empowered us to go forward with the training that Sue did with the dog. We found that he was able to walk calmly beside us on a long lead dragging along the ground rather than being held by one of us and he could also handle encounters with strangers - people and dogs - calmly. Sue’s training is excellent and thoroughly recommended.

Sue has been great! She helped us train our dog from a puppy, and now people comment on what a well behaved dog he is. She trains us as well as the dog! I have no hesitation at all in giving her a 5star review. If you need help with initial puppy training or dealing with problems in an older dog she has a wealth of experience to share. Our dog loves her and responds very well whenever he sees her and/or stays with her.

Sue has hugely helped us with our strong adolescent HWV, who always pulled when walking on the lead. Sue gave her three days of intensive heel training both on and off lead and we have seen a huge improvement in her walking to heel with us.After we collected our girl, we were putting into practice what we had learnt in our training session with Sue and a couple stopped my husband and commented on what a well behaved dog we had and how well she was walking to heel. We mentioned that both she and us had just received some intensive training from Sue, and they both said they thought Sue had been involved by the way she was walking so well.We are very grateful to Sue for her help, as she has made walks far more enjoyable now. Thank you very much Sue, your expertise is hugely appreciated.

Sue Harper has been helping me with our golden retriever puppy for some months. She is always punctual and well organised. Not only does Sue understand your puppy straight away but she also understands you and your lifestyle . In particular Sue has given me the confidence to train our dog and encouraged me when I thought it was going wrong ! We have achieved lots of things I would not have possible with such a young puppy, thanks to Sue - thank you.
