Just don’t. They bought out the solicitors I was using, and for some reason thought it was acceptable to hold my file for 3 weeks and do no work. Delaying my sale and purchase. Lie and say I wanted them to have my file when I had clearly said I didn’t, which I have proof of. Nancy thinks it’s ok to talk to you like she found you in a gutter. I’m all my years working as an estate agent and buying and selling my own home. I’ve never known such a disaster. They’re motos about treat people how you want to be treated are so off the mark it’s almost funny. I promise you save yourself the stress and worry. This made me ill, when I finally got my file back to the original solicitor and they worked a miracle to get me moved. Again just don’t!

We were introduced to Seymour Luke by a friend for a recent purchase of our family home in Sutton. We had a personal timeline that was quite restrictive, and the onward purchase was complicated in being tied up through probate. Philip, Jodie and Ben were very responsive and professional throughout, showing excellent persistence to see the purchase through for us within our timescale. Thanks to all the team.

Nightmare from start to finish. I decided to go with them as they were recommended through my estate agent and as this was a divorce sale it felt safer to go neutral. What a mistake. My named solicitor changed so many times I had no idea who I needed to speak to, that’s if I could ever get through to speak with them. We finally had the date for exchange and complete set, and my solicitor hadn’t even sent the form for our bank details let alone anything else, I had to ask if she knew where she was sending the money… then she goes on holiday the day of completion and left me dealing with the uncontactable paralegal. Their delays cost us money. We had no money in the bank or proof of funds, nor was our mortgage paid off but the buyer was in the house unpacking!! It’s been a disaster. They will add a charge for transfer fees and then not transfer the money but request another £40 if you want it that day… when I queried the £40 transfer fee that is on the fees already I got a very stroppy response and am still no clearer as to what it is for? I would steer clear. They are a mess.

We were recommended to use Talbots through our estate agent as they suggested they were professionals in new builds.The solicitor we used for our sale was actually cheaper than Talbots but we decided to go with Talbots anyway given that they were apparently professionals in new builds.In the documents sent out by Talbots they say how they strive to respond quickly, which they don’t. Also, any question we asked was referred elsewhere so it took ages for a response, if at all, and some information went straight to our sale solicitor, keeping us out of the loop.We were also looking to set up a declaration of trust with Talbots which has to be sent through the post for signing, 6 weeks later and chasers, this still hasn’t been received.

Talbots dealt with the purchase of my first property. Preeti was amazing and the sale was completed in just 9 weeks in the height of the 3rd covid lockdown when other completions were taking an average of 4 months. Preeti was always available to take my calls and help me with any queries I had and also regularly emailed and called me with progress updates. Thank you to the team at Talbots!

They have been my solicitors when I purchased my first flat upon recommendation. Although the communication was slow (some weeks I would hear nothing, although the lack of progress was from the sellers solicitors) when it sped up at the end it became clear they are EXTREMELY thorough and absolutely had my best interests at heart. I would use them again definitely.

This conveyancing firm is unfortunately involved in my property chain. I have tried to contact them directly out of sheer desperation, but most unsurprisingly heard nothing.I’ve now contacted the Law Society and Legal Ombudsman as asking their clients for money to expedite a sale and then not doing so is apparently a clear breach of Code of Conduct, meaning we do have a cause for complaint even though they aren’t acting on our behalf.Thankfully these two organisations seem to work much more quickly than this company but it is a shame it has come to this after repeated delays and lack of progress.Jodie Whitworth.
