Lonsdale Park

Tony was excellent, however the fishing was awful. Out of the 5 lakes only lonsdale lake seemed fishable.We fished 3 lakes, targeting pike, carp, roach and perch, and we caught nothing with no signs of anything else, don't be fooled by the promises of big carp, pike and tench. The gate on entrance was hardly working and required pushing to get it open and closed.

Expecting 5 fishing lakes when there was basically only 2. Great for bit bashing and not much else. The beds are very hard which is fine but if you don't like hard beds probably not for you. Lots of horse fly's so if you have a bad reaction then probably not a great place to go. The house was really nice and we'll kept and has a great view of the lake. Overall it's not a bad holiday it's just not really as it was advertised.

After a conversation with Tony I took my 2 grandsons for a couple of hours to Tey there new whips.When we arrived we had a warm welcome the boys received loads of encouragement they had 3 nice perch between them in e hours a great success they can't wait to get back there again. Thanks again top team.

Place looked great and people were friendly. Sadly we did not book in advance and it was fully booked so we did not get to stay.

Came for a days pike fishing. Others were carp fishing. Nobody seemed to catch at all. Only one lake fishable - Lonsdale - and one of my grandsons had a few small roach and one a nice size. Very expensive for the quality of the fishing. Tony, the manager was excellent, and helpful, but overall probably won't return. Much better places to blank at a much cheaper price .....

Just come back from a fantastic week at Lonsdale . Stayed in cottage 3 , absolutely stunning . Loved the spa bath . Everything clean and tidy , a real home from home . Stunning view of the lake from cottage . Got to give Tony a mention as this guy goes above and beyond to make your stay fantastic, anything you need he is there , fantastic gentleman. . The fishing is superb , didn’t get my carp this time lol but I’ll try again next time lol . Booking now to come again in October. Just can not believe what we got for such a fantastic price . My wife and I returned to Lonsdale Park after an 8 year gap.We were BOTH absolutely DELIGHTED with the fishing and the cottage.The new owner (Carol) and her team (Tony - manager) and (Barney) are TOPS.The shop is open for most of the day, every day.The site is in immaculate condition which is excellent as the previous owners had really let it go. The work done is nothing less than astounding.The fish are big and in excellent condition.It's good advice to chat to the team for tips. It's a terrific fishery but can be quirky. There's nothing like local knowledge.We will be back in 2021 and many more times.

We have just come back for staying here. What a lovely place to take time out to chill and rest. What a beautiful place this is. The cottage we stayed in was lovely, Clean and comfortable. My son and his friend really enjoyed the fishing. The dogs loved their stay too. Lovely place. Will be back sometime in the future. Staff are lovely and welcoming also.

Absolutely fantastic place, cottage was excellent, clean and comfy. The assistance of staff on site was first class, I dealt with Tony and nothing was too much trouble, very helpful and informative. If you enjoy fishing I highly recommend this venue.

Fishing Heaven, First of all THESE LAKES HAVE NOT BEEN NETTED AND THE FISH SOLD ON. I've had it checked out. A warm and genuine welcome awaits you at Lonsdale. Carol and the team do a great job. Social distancing and masks are adhered to. The cottages are fully fitted, warm and cozy. And have everything you need to cook any meal. Also very clean. The fishing is outstanding, I would go as far as to say some of the best roach fishing in the country. Roach of 2lb+ is not uncommon every day. Carp of all sizes and plenty of them, and if you're into pike fishing there are some right monsters in the lakes. Tony will give you any advice you ask for, he knows the lakes well and the tactics he gave me worked well. The pegs are safe and level. Great place for families or couples. We have already booked for next year. Thank you to all the team for making our stay so relaxing.
