You-Rent

I’ve had an excellent experience with You-Rent over the last 2.5 years! They have found a lovely 2-bed maisonette for me at a perfect location close to the city center. Ann-Marie and Libby have always been very professional, kind and keen to help. Even though they were not managing my flat, they were always very supportive and they never hesitated to go the extra mile in making sure any issues I had were resolved promptly.If you are looking for a home in Reading, I would strongly recommend You-Rent!

I have used You-Rents to manage my large portfolio for some 10 years and always found them to be professional in a fast changing landscape. They are able to provide me with the specific requirements I demand from this type of Agency and found them to always be clear and fair with Tenants - the fact that some of my tenancies extend to 7 years is proof in point and testament to the quality of both our services. Ann-Marie and Libby are friendly and flexible at all times and I recommend them over the Corporate experience wholeheartedly.

I've just started renting a room in a house with You Rent and I'm impressed with the service they have provided and the speed and efficiency of the process. The viewing process was straight forward and the company were very quick at issuing all the paperwork and contacting references on my behalf. All the associated costs were clearly laid out and explained and the company have been a pleasure to deal with thus far, hence why I am writing a positive review. You rent were helpful with the returning of the deposit and addressing of material issues i.e. when hot water stopped working, when my shower stopped working etc. they offered me some compensation which was well received given the inconvenience.An area they could improve is timeliness of repairs to things i.e. some tenants broke both fridge doors and this was never fixed during my stayBut overall for a letting agent they were very good, no quibbles with deposit etc. which is the main thing people worry about - Libby was most helpful in this area

Worst renting agency ever!! They are all so rude, specially the Manager, high prices for poor quality. We lived in one of their flats 8 months under contract and they never ever came to fix the Windows. Anytime they want they come inside to do inspections and put any excuses to name “is not up to the standards of the contract”, but then you ask to fix window and they avoid to answer... so as a tenant you will have obligations but no rights!! Just be careful with them... They take no responsability of anything.

As a landlord i have used You Rent for the past couple of lets and have found them to be very good. I like the team of people in the office and think they probably reference tenants a little more thoroughly than the average agent which for me is a big plus! Anne-Marie is certainly straight to the point over certain issues which I appreciate because as a landlord its nice to know someone is looking after my interests and not just paying lip service! You definately feel you are getting more of a 1-2-1 level of service rather than with the bigger agencies where you feel like just a number.They have a good team of trades people and in most cases have got problems fixed as quickly as possible. I am always in touch with my tenants even though i let you-rent manage the day to day occurances and in the main they also seem fairly happy with turn around times of maintenance issues. You cant please everyone all the time especially when you get a boiler breakdown on a friday afternoon! There is always a check-in and a check-out using an inventory clerk. Overall though a positive experience!

I had such an awful experience with them, they told me because I didn't have a UK based garantor who was a home owner, they decided to give the flat to someone else and all the money I'd already paid was non refundable" then after a million emails and calls they agreed to give me back £250 of it as the "holding fee"

I use You rent all the time and they are very good. The team are extremely efficient, they deal with the requests i make and overall are very pleasing to work with. If you need to find tenants anywhere in Reading, i would recommend You Rent.

Just been told to F**k off on the phone by the so called owner - Anne Marie, cut me off on numerous occasions as soon as i wanted to place a complaint. Total Cowboys!When i complained 'is this how you speak to people' hearing the excuse of we speak to loads of people who mess us about everyday.....I'm a working professional who is very well spoken and believes in good customer service. im easy to please. This has to be the worst service i have recieved in my life, would you want a person with this type of attitude trying to sell or rent your place? Ive marked them off completely! Disgusting, Trashy, Joke of a company.She also tried to imply i was sexist as i laughed when she said she was the owner. I laughed at her disgusting customer service when she was supposed to be the owner. Never been so shocked in my life! I gave a one star as that is the minimum

I found the quality of the property offered by You-Rent to be great value within Reading, offering a good amount of space and very well equipped kitchen for a studio flat. Décor was also tasteful and personal adaptations I wanted to make were facilitated (eg. picture hooks on walls), allowing me to make it feel like home. In general, any issues I had were resolved promptly and matters were dealt with by members of You-Rent in a professional manner. The main negative would be the vast number of additional fees (eg. check-in/check-out and tenancy extension fees), although these are unlikely to be excessive for the Reading area. I think the fact that I rented with You-Rent for 3 years in itself supports my recommendation.
