The Golden Ball
We were served by Tasha and Amy. We did have to wait a little while to be served at the start(although we were spoken to straight away and was given an apology) but once served it was fantastic service, very attentive, I also want to say how well I felt Tasha did dealing with some potentially difficult customers. The food was outstanding chef mason and Emma did a wonderful job. Was a great treat for my birthday.

A fantastic menu in a wonderfully traditional pub. Oak beams, lovely decor, great beers, plenty of choice on the menu, and delicious food ... all served with a smile. The quiet country village of Whiston also provides the perfect backdrop. Loved it.

Came for a meal on Sunday with my family and had such a lovely time. Mackenzie served us and was truly a delight to talk to and clearly enjoys her role. Food was great and my family thoroughly enjoyed their time. Thank you Mackenzie, you are a credit to your team :)

Service was great. So lovely to the kids and really helpful.The mash and pies were great. The pizza and kids burger were a little dry but still nice. The drinks were all really nice. Atmosphere was lovely as always.

Good friendly service nice atmosphere.Two of us had the pie of the day which was steak and wine. It was presented lovely with nice veg the meat was a bit tough n chewy. It wasn’t enough that we complained about it as the rest was nice but we didn’t enjoy it as much as some of the other dishes that we’ve had before

My wife and her team of Marie Curie nurses had a Christmas Meal on Monday 4th Dec. From first booking, to placing advance food orders, to reception upon arrival, then the food and service - everything was exceptional. Fantastic food and the management and staff could not have been more efficient or more friendly and more accommodating. Well Done Vintage Inns and thank you Golden Ball Whiston.

Very disappointing indeed!! Gray chicken and frozen fish with bachelors cold runny mush peas. The lady behind the bar was lovely but the cook needs to change profession. Shame for these kind of pub’s because the M.D can’t see what the customer is saying. I recommend managing the kitchen and checking the meals that get put out to paying customers.

Had a lovely Sunday evening meal with friends, nice little rooms so no overpowering noise.Staff were lovely, patient, helpful .Food was good, we all cleared our plate. My only disappointment was cold creme brulee!

It was a last-minute decision to try the Golden BallWe had to change our venue as the previous place would have ranked 3 at best. Anyway we found the staff to be all very accommodating putting tables together so our group could be all together. The service was excellent and the food was perfect and the choice extensive everything from steak to vegetarian all cooked very well all situated in a quiet relaxed atmosphere. We liked it so much we are going again and we live in Stockport Cheshire.Keep up the good work your fantastic and very hospitable. Top marks

Service and most of the food was first class. Surroundings are classy and comfortable. My wife's meat pie was lacking in filling and rather fatty (she didn't tell me until later or I would have told the staff).
