free parking and very easy access to get to the main Hoffman Kiln area, including being able to walk inside the large Kiln at the base of the huge chimney. Good place for families to explore and also get out for a nice walk around the countryside surrounding the kiln.

Great heritage area to visit, and very educational for all the family. The walk around the heritage centre is very interactive, with lots of information points and things to see. There is access into the kiln itself, which is dark but really interesting to see!Dog friendly, with plenty of parking available.Shops and pubs nearby if you want to make a day of it.The walks are pretty easy going, and can be as long or short as you want them to be, depending on the route you take.Highly recommended if your passing through the border village of llanymynech.

A very educational trip into the production of lime from limestone in 1899.The path up the hill is steep but the views from the edge of the limestone cliffs are well worth the effort.I would highly recommend this tour and the dogs loved it. ❤️

What an amazing place + was lucky enough to speak to 1 of the volunteers, who took the time to explain how the kiln worked. Lovely, but steep walk up to where the rock was taken from. Walked along + up to the viewpoint. Well worth a visit.

Well worth a visit, I was brought up right by it before it became a visitor attraction so you may say I am biased. The Kiln stopped being used in 1914 so you can step back in time and see the 14 bay Hoffman kiln with it chimney plus many draw kiln in the area, plus the two quarries on the hill.

This is truly a hidden gem. There is only limited parking, but this is free.Once out of the car park, the trails and paths are well maintained and signposted with plenty of information boards around the area. The old buildings and limeworks are very well preserved.Zone 1 of the heritage area offers shorter, accessible walks. Whilst zones 2 and 3 offer more strenuous and longer walks which then link up with other walking trails too.Follow the footpaths up the hill to find a stunning viewpoint and explore the old quarry at the top of the hill.

This was a great place. The lime kilns are quite amazing. You can walk inside them and imagine what it must have been like. There are lots of parts of the lime kiln industry spread throughout this heritage area with good informatics. If you have lots of young kids or not physically fit people, you can just walk around the woods at the bottom of the limestone cliffs. If you are fit enough for the walk up the Welsh incline or the English incline there is way more stuff at the top.

Great trip here to discover the Limestone quarrying history of the area.Free parking available and was also great for walking the dog with bits of history scattered around the reserve. We spent around 2-3 hours here exploring and walking up the the cliffs and quarry site which is well worth the walk up the incline.

Wonderful place. Worth noting the visitor building and snack stand is to the right of the car park, we missed it when we arrived with the cars parked there.Lovely little and informative ride along the stretch of canal for £5 (Sundays and bank holidays). The kilns themselves are freely open with information boards with ramp access to everything we saw. Walking inside is rather impressive.Didn't manage to go to the top given I've got a fractured knee, but happily enjoyed a few hours there. Some very nice painted canal items in the shop.
