Herts Young Mariners Base Outdoor Centre
Our whole family absolutely loves it here. It’s a fantastic place, with amazing facilities and lovely staff. They do everything from classes and open sessions to kids’ holiday clubs; canoeing kayaking, paddle boarding, sailing, open water swimming, archery, climbing and more besides. For young and old, and all with lake loads joy!

Great place, nice groups and very polite instructors. Recommend to all. Only thing I have to say for anyone going for a first time is the water is a natural lake which is dirty but great for a kayaking or canoeing lesson. Amazing overall

Great value for money, friendly experienced instructors, great location. Good to see kids being challenged, being active and enjoying themselves. Not our first time and won't be our last.

Herts Young Mariners Base Outdoor Centre
A great place. For large and small groups. I've taken my 9, 10 & 11 year old with friends over school holidays and a whole class of 30 for their leaving celebration. They've done paddle boarding, rafting, kayaking and more. The price is great for all day and I have no worries leaving them, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. There are wet suits and changing facilities. A basic shower. There is also a cheap tuck shop which the kids love too. Highly recommended.

I went for a swim here for the first time yesterday and had an amazing swim. Highly recommended:1) Ample parking near the entry to the lake2) 500 metre weed-free circuit in calm waters3) Indoor toilets, showers and space to change4) the circuit mapped out with options for 200 and 300 metre circuits.5) open until 8:30pm6) no mandatory induction session.
