Memorial Gardens
Beautiful and huge monument, in the middle of Ashton-under-Lyne. Some benches to seat around. Ideal for walks or just sitting down and reading your favourite book etc.

It's not as well maintained as it used to be but it's still a pleasant place to sit and watch the world go by. Some dodgy types and drunks can often be found sitting near the monument.

Great memorial commemorating victims and heroes of the 1st WW. Close to city center and two local beautiful cathedrals.

Memorial Gardens
War Memorial Garden is Grate II listed historical monument with outstanding greenery. It is also wonderful place to stop for a while and take a moment to sit and rest. Surrounded by great trees and shrubs it is often visited by locals. The most impressive is two lions on each site of the monument. The monument has a panel of the names of those who sacrificed their lives in Great War.
