We just returned from a 10 day tour of Scotland. It was the experience of a lifetime that we had hoped it would be! Alasdair and Amy put together a well rounded and well paced experience that met all of our hopes for the trip (a tall order). Our driver, Neil, was a pure joy! He was professional, warm, knowledgeable, intelligent, kind, and incredibly witty! During the trip, Amy was supportive and efficient, her service was exceptional. We had flexibility through the trip and could move through the itinerary at a pace that was enjoyable and allowed us to focus on the sites and activities that were important to us. When I return to focus more on our favorite parts of the tour, I will defiantly be booking with Private Tours Scotland.

I stumbled upon this company whilst looking for the perfect service to provide us a private tour of Scotland. We wanted the flexibility to be on our own and move as fast or slow as we wanted to. Our driver, Brian, was so knowledgeable about Scotland and for my husband who hadn’t been back to Scotland in almost 50 years, a pal to talk about all things Scotland. We enjoyed his company so much that at the end it was hard to say good without shedding a wee tear. Our boat trip on the Loch Ness with Gordon was epic. A man born and raised on the Loch. His stories and love of Scotland were charming. Then our amazing walking tour guide Liz, who took us all over Edinburgh was like having your own historian! She captivated us with her stories and love of her city. ThisCompany made a trip that was in the making for many years a dream come true. I would highly recommend them. Oh! Let me start by saying - my husband is afraid to fly. In order to get him to agree to a very long flight to Scotland, I had to tempt him with a VERY special itinerary full of unique experiences. We definitely wanted to avoid the kind of trip where we would be a small part of a very large bus group, subject to the limitations of large group travel (some people love this, but we just don’t). Private Tours Scotland/Luxury Scotland Tours (PTS/LST) was the answer we needed. We chose the Malt Whisky Indulgence Tour, and every aspect was exceptionally choreographed to deliver a stress-free, relaxing and fun travel experience. PTS/LST created a daily itinerary, based on our personal preferences and interests, that balanced distillery tours and warehouse tastings with scenic nature excursions, castles, and historic sites. We were delighted with the accommodations (4- and 5-star) that provided graciously appointed and comfortable rooms. PTS/LST suggested delicious restaurants for each evening and made the dining reservations on our behalf.But for us, the best part of the trip was the private car and driver. We knew this was a good decision after visiting with other North American travelers we met along the way, who had naively thought that driving on the other side of the road would be an easy transition. More than once, we heard about the near misses and high-stress journeys. And our driver was phenomenal! From the moment Alan greeted us at our pick-up location, until he dropped us off for our final goodbyes, he shepherded us through the itinerary, offering additional insight to the places we visited, answering questions and sharing his love for his home country by letting us see Scotland through his eyes. Our only job was to sit back and enjoy. We truly feel like we made a friend that we will keep long after our return to the states.We HIGHLY recommend Private Tours Scotland/Luxury Scotland Tours and will be singing their praises for a long time to come.

Our family of seven just returned from a week-long trip throughout Scotland. Our driver, David, was wonderful! He shared stories and talked to us at the end of each day to confirm what we were doing the following day. We were able to see private family locations interspersed with wonderful day trips of riding out onto the Atlantic in a rigid-hull boat to see waterfalls, otters and red stag deer as well as a personal tour of Loch Ness and a visit to a whisky distillery. We also stopped along the way to visit scenic small fishing villages, the ruins of St. Andrews Castle (for sure climb though the mine shaft/escape route and check out the bottle-neck dungeon) and of course, the Royal Ancient Golf Course. For our family of kids aged 21 - 29, this was a trip of a lifetime! Thanks to Helen for her careful considerations and choices of places to stay and eat. It was awesome!

Absolutely wonderful experience and we recommend them highly! We planned a 10 day tour with the guidance from Florence. Tam was our driver throughout our over 900 miles journey. Every day was the perfect balance of enjoying the beautiful nature sights, the castles and history, the towns and people. The luxurious accommodations met our expectations and the scheduled dinners were absolutely wonderful to cap off great days. One of the very best trips we have ever had!
