If you are interested in martial arts, self-defense or just want to try your hand at something new then this is for you.Outstanding instructors. Sensei Ken, Sensei Med, Sensei Matt and Jo are always nice, smiling and above all patient.I never felt like a stranger here. People here are like one big family.This family atmosphere and very good instructors make that I would recommend this school to anyone.Experience, age and physical strength do not matter. They can teach everyone who just wants to learn. I've seen a few schools in the UK and Poland, but this is the BEST.Aikido is for everyone. You only need to find a good school.This is the one!

After not taking much interest in sport at school my son started Aikido at age 8 and took to it like a duck to water. The instructors are great and my son still loves going 2 years on. The academy is not only great for children though. After watching my son training for a few weeks, I loved the traditional nature of the teaching which resonated with my previous experience in another traditional Japanese martial art and I decided to take to the mat myself. No doubt my youngest will join us on the mat in the very near future! Great academy with great instructors which I can fully recommend.

All the staff are great with our children. They've been coming for 3 years and it's really helped them physically and mentally. There's a room for other parents and siblings to sit while they're having a lesson with a few toys for the younger ones or you can watch them in the dojo too. They're always looking at ways to improve both inside and outside the academy with merit badges and an achievement wall. Well worth checking out.

I've recently returned to train here after a 6 year absence. In just 2 weeks, my physical and mental well being has improved dramatically. I've not felt this great since I was here before.The staff are friendly, and amazingly supportive, making me feel like I belong once more at the Shudokan Black Belt Academy. I look forward to continue my training for many years to come.

After training in other arts at other schools, I can honestly say that Shudokan Academy is the most professionally run and most welcoming friendly place that I have studied at. Hi I’d like to let you know about this world class academy me and my daughter have been training here for some time, the junior systems they have in place is truly genius. On to the staff and adults classes. The instructors are all high ranking, with a seventh degree black belt chief instructor Sensei Ken alongside them not overseas or in a different city. You will not find a more experienced team in Nottingham or even Europe. They have a very flexible time table with several classes a day, once again like nowhere else. So yes if you want to make a investment in your or your family’s future this year this is the place to go. You will not be disappointed, Osu!

Excellent teaching academy. Welcoming to children and adults. Has shown to encourage self awareness, confidence, respect and self defence. Would recommend to parents looking to help their little ones grow and develop in a positive way, as it has ours.

I was only in Nottingham for a few weeks and wanted to learn some self defence, the academy completely catered to my needs! For a great price I was offered three one to one sessions as well as unlimited access to classes throughout the month. Not only did I learn self defence, but have been opened up to aikido, and most importantly grown in confidence and resilience. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for flexibility, great students to share the classes with (who were so welcome to me being a beginner) and amazing, friendly staff!
