Used to be, effectively, my regular.As always, a warm, friendly welcome. Attentive staff. Fair priced drinks (for South Essex).A wet Saturday night Halloween event, with band AOB. Just very chilled, with rocky overtones.Standard menu, which from experience is perfectly fine. Specials menu looks lush.Enjoyed my walk down memory lane immensely. Won't leave it so long until my next visit.

Food was excellent. I had chicken and ham pie. It was delicious. Staff very good. Friendly. Atmosphere OK but it was half term so a lot of children.

Had a great breakfast with santa. A special thanks to elf holly b for making it a truly magical experience and extra special mention to the chef for the amazing food and great presentation of the eggs ;) Santa was brilliant and really made the kids faces light up. We would definitely recommend.

Just popped in as driving past on the way back to London AND MUST say Lamb Sunday Roast IM SPEECHLESS worth coming back for. Mathew you're legend for recommendations and service second to none. Skipping Shard and happily driving back next week. Glad we discovered this little gem .

Went today for lunch and the starter was overcooked and chewy (squid). I had macaroni cheese for main and it tasted like it had come out of a tin, very processed taste. Side of bread which was very dry. Such a shame really as it has a nice restaurant area and looks like it should serve decent quality food from the outside, but the reality is very different. Staff were approachable but service was slow.

The first time visiting The Rose Inn and we had the most wonderful afternoon. I visited with family (adults and children) and we all ordered the Sunday roasts and were not disappointed! The food came out quickly and was absolutely lovely. The desserts were equally delicious and we had the most relaxing afternoon and could have stayed for hours.Friendly and attentive staff, warm relaxed atmosphere and a beautiful pub!

Turned up without having a reservation for food. Was asked to wait a moment, and the young lady sorted a table for us. Good menu, tasty food (fish & chips/halloumi &chips) it was just missing tartar sauce. We were checked on several times. Would definitely eat there again.

Not sure if they were understaffed or what was going on, but we went on a Sunday and waited an hour and five minutes for our mains. A guy came over and asked us if we had got our food yet at around the 40 minute mark, then said he'd ask the kitchen, but never came back to tell us what was happening, so we waited some more, assuming that the food was on its way. I ordered the fishcakes that then turned up with the coating burnt in places. Absolutely stunning little pub, but the service just wasn't there, unfortunately.
