Harris & Lewis Smokehouse

Lovely place. We went for a (late) lunch and were happy to still get served which is hardly guaranteed ou on the islands here!The salmon taster plate and the lamb croquettes were extremely tasty and we went for an accompaniment of leafy salad and some cheese and herb scones plus local drinks. The scones arrived warm, so bonus points for this. The North Uist Downpour gin was lovely with the salmon too! The Skye beer selection got full approval as well. Service was friendly and spot on. Great place I would highly recommend. Stylish, tasty local food and a great drinks list - it doesn't need more than that. The music was maybe a tad on the loud side (or it's just a sign I'm getting old...).

We excitedly popped in for a late lunch and were not disappointed. In fact, every dish sounded good so we ended up ordering too much. Not to worry though cause the gumbo will be our lunch tomorrow. We chose the scallop special, the Smokehouse salmon and extra tatties. There’s nothing like fresh Scottish seafood!

Top quality food imaginatively produced by by a young team. Rhys the chef and Inga, no.2, are a great pair.

Very good dinner, nice and friendly atmosphere, very friendly service personel. We really hat a perfect evening and will come back during our vacation.

Delicious brunch food and lunch sandwiches, recently reopened post pandemic (I visited June 2023) and amazing salmon as you’d expect as well as veggie options and good coffee! Slick design, friendly staff, lots of books to read and comfy seats

Love seafood! First visit here..Lovely airy building and atmosphere..lovely pleasant staff great service. Fiona is Lovely,and even Phil the chef came over and chatted briefly with us, i could be quite happy staying here all day tasting most of the items on the menu! I looked forwards to my visit today and I wasn't disappointed!

Absolutely phenomenal. We walked in the doors after our 2.5hr choppy ferry ride over to the island. This restaurant alone was worth the trip over. The food was expertly prepared and all the pairings perfect. You could not order a single dish and be disappointed. 11/10

The place is nicely designed, well lit, may be a little cold. The service that night was friendly. The food overall excellent. Good wine list. Except that...... being Swiss we asked the chef to replace the rösti" by vegetables which he refused to do ! As expected the "rösti" were deep fried and greasy. The chef should have listened to our request."
