Having used the services of GMP for a number of years, I have always found the staff and doctors very professional and competent, I appreciate the ongoing problems with appointments and the likes, however opinion all changed on the 2. 9.23 when I attended the surgery for my annual medical check and encounter the worst example of a receptionist I have ever had the misfortune of meeting ! The words loud, aggressive, argumentative, manipulative are just some of the words I would use to describe this individual ! Really GMP is this the best you can do ? Happy to discuss further for more detailed clarity

I rang this afternoon for some advice. The receptionist was very helpful and put me in for a GP phone call .Dr Parkin rang to speak to me and helped me .Thank you

I’ve been to Physio at this centre twice recently seeing Brad. Lovely young man, who was informative, through, knowledgable, supportive and has restored my faith in the NHS care.Thanks Brad

10 months after my review below, I am at the same point. Everyone is giving them feedback on their booking system but they don't seem to do anything about it.------------If you can get through the phone system, it is a good clinic with good doctors. However, the level of service they provide is simply insufficient for the need. You need to call them at 8 am sharp to be number 17 in the line and wait for at least half an hour on the phone, and they may already be out of appointments. Try to do that with a sick child, on the way to drop the other one to school before trying to work from home, the whole time being worried. They seem to have prepared their system for the ideal patient who doesn't have any other responsibilities, pain or serious concerns. Try calling Gosforth Memorial, and who knows today you may be the lucky one. And if you need to call them again because no pharmacies seem to keep stock of basic medicine these days - another ridiculous tragedy of a system - , and you need to ask if a different medicine can be prescribed etc, just forget about it. You will wait for 20 minutes for them to finally hang up. Prepare for calling 111, for an hour of waiting on the line..

Excellent GP service, great doctors, and whilst it is a little longer to get an appointment post covid (as it is everywhere from what i read) I can genuinely say it's not been my experience of hanging on the phone for hours at a time or then waiting weeks to see/ speak to someone - very often same day!

Outstanding GP surgery Friendly helpful reception staff GPs that cover different ailments.Call 8am get appointments that morning PM same afternoon also do a same day call back if required,they have stayed back late waiting for myself whilst i needed emergency appointment a 100% recommendation.

Really terrible experience - I have been unable to get an appointment for over 6 weeks of trying. They need to follow what every other practice seems to do which is allow you to book appointments in advance. This call in on the day" system has seriously failed myself

Really disappointed with todays experience. Although notorious for running late with appointments, I usually find the service both professional and insightful. Today my appointment ran over 40 minutes late and when I did eventually see the doctor, the experience only got worse. Firstly, the doctor seemed to have little understanding of the issue at hand, using only the NHS website for information and not being able to answer questions I had, that didn’t have obvious answers on the NHS site - had I known this was the only source of information going to be used, I’d have stayed at home. Secondly, the doctor showed complete lack of understanding or care for my daughters needs, acting in a pushy, overwhelming manner, taking my daughters screams and tears as a sign to continue their loud, overbearing behaviour. I explained to the doctor, at the beginning of the appointment, that my daughter struggles in new environments, this was totally disregarded. Quite frankly, I dread the day I need to take her back to the doctors as this experience has only made her perception of interacting with a doctor more terrifying. I too left the appointment feeling upset and as though it was a total waste of time. I’ll be sure to check which doctor my appointment is with, before attending next time.

Used to be good. Now, I don't know where to begin... Yes the GPs are really good... the problem is being able to see one. It's literally impossible. I called 18 times this morning only to be told they don't have any appointments available for my child. The people on the phone don't care at all. They don't give non urgent appointments so you have to endure this process even if you need a non urgent appointment. They don't bother to reply to formal complaints. It's sad but would not recommend if you actually need to see your GP quite often :(

Recently moved to this GP Practice (since January 2023) due to my previous GP Practice lacking appointments, losing samples and breach of data/confidentiality. So far, they have been great, staff are friendly, helpful and been able to get same day appointments.
