I have been learning to play the drums with Sam for just over a month now and have been surprised at how quickly I have moved forward. This is down to Sam being so relaxed and friendly during the lessons which helps to keep you calm and focused on what you’re doing. Sam explains everything you do as you do it to keep you informed as to exactly where you are and how you’re doing what you’re doing. He is helping me to pick up the coordination, pace and to read music effectively. I would recommend Sam to anyone who wants to learn to play the drums and he is a very friendly and informative teacher.

For me, the assessment of a music teacher comes from the answer to the question - what is your goal when learning to play the instrument. If, as in my case, it is a combination of gaining the skills to eventually play with a band, but so that the learning process is not tedious and boring with a reward somewhere far in the future, but pleasant and fun from the beginning, then Sam is your perfect teacher. Sam teaches the drumming techniques but each lesson is like a mini gig - I play to the music, his studio has an atmosphere like recording a song, I leave the lesson as if I were finishing a concert. I highly recommend lessons with Sam - a great combination of learning to play the drums with fun and a guarantee of a good mood. Marek

Sam is a personable and down to earth drum tutor - lessons always feel like they're well suited to my skill level and I always enjoy the music we play.Sam is great at presenting a challenge and helping me improve, but the atmosphere always remains relaxed, Sam is approachable, extremely patient and always allows me to offer feedback and give input on the lessons themselves.Big recomendation from me.
