Tor Town Taxis

Tonight I must have had my 10th bad expirence with ²11611Wetherit be you guys leaving with out me or just plain crockery I'm done

The only positive thing I can say about Paul and Tor Town Taxis was that he was on time and picked me up. It all went downhill from there. He was video chatting while driving very fast for most of the long, hot journey. His air conditioning didn’t work properly and I had to ask him to turn it on. This was in the middle of England’s July heatwave. I finally asked him to at least open his window more as I had no access to any fresh air in the back of his van. He also listened loudly to talk radio when not video chatting on his phone. I had to stop at a cash machine, as agreed, to pay him in £ cash. I had fully intended on still giving him some kind of tip I’m addition to the fee. However when he didn’t even get out of the van to open my door(which was heavy and tricky to open) I decided not too. I did not feel safe, comfortable or respected in his ‘taxi’. When he finally dropped me off at my friends home, he was even gruff to her and she commented to me about it. The next day, we discovered that he threw out the empty water bottle I left in his taxi on my friends lawn. Highly disappointed by Paul and his dangerous driving and disrespectful attitude. My friend, who gives international tours of Glastonbury said I should report him for video chatting while driving. I didn’t. But after having a lovely taxi driver take me back to the airport after my holiday, and seeing the incredible service he gave for exactly the same price. I felt I should at least let others know what to expect from Paul’s “service”. I did give that taxi driver a £20 tip on top of the same £165 airport run.

Whenever I come to Glastonbury I go with Tor Town Taxi. Paul is an excellent driver and we always feel very comfortable and safe when he drives us to magical places. Highly recommended. Best Taxi driver in Glastonbury. Best wishes from Austria, Gabriele

Paul drove me and our group many times this week across the UK to support our retreat. Paul is kind, a good communicator, and very accommodating to needs to stop for restrooms, Chalice Well water, etc. Very reliable, great service. I am so grateful.

Paul is great. I have called on his taxi twice now and had a lovely experience each time.

I took my previous review down as although I felt cheated and had a bad experience I may have worded it incorrectly and wasn't entirely fair... However after being accosted in the street about said review by the fella I've decided to put a warning to people that the guy seems unhinged if he goes around accosting people in the street for leaving a bad review and threatening solicitors while waiting for the bus. That's not how you run a business, you take the bad reviews and do better next time, you don't accost people in the street making them feel uncomfortable.AVOID AVOID AVOID! Whole headache to deal with and I've never had issues with any of the other taxi companies here and I use taxi services regularly.

Personally for me, I found this service challenging. It’s really hard to book a taxi in Glastonbury as it is, so I phoned the day before. I don’t drive and have a physical (fibromyalgia) and social disability (autism) and have limited access to vehicals as I don’t have family or friends in the area. and needed to pick something up from the shop, at first he said he wasn’t available then said he didn’t know If he had time but to ask again the next day. He picked me up but seemed funny about it with a bad attitude about having to potentially help me unload it at my house. I understand that’s not necessarily part of the job, but I think there needs to be more understanding and accommodations for people with limiting disabilities who rely on services like taxis to occasionally get somewhere or pick something up that otherwise can’t be delivered. The lady at tescos was originally the person that suggested hiring a taxi otherwise I’d prob not have bothered. It was just three small bags of rocks for my garden, that I couldn’t carry home myself otherwise I would have done, which he complained would get his white clothes dirty despite me offering to help him unload them. I’ve also tried to book to get to the vet in the past a few times during reasonable hours and have never had any availability for that, either. I wonder if there’s prejudices against people who aren’t booking long expensive rides or scenic routes. I tipped more as I planned to for the extra help, but was only once I did he changed his tune. I expect a more gracious attitude for 15£ just to go 5 minutes down street road from tor view to the supermarket. no card machine either so had to get money out which complicated paying . I asked how much it would be so I could get the appropriate amount out of the cash point only for him to say on the way back after we had already left it would be more because I was too long in the shop. understanding needs to be afforded to people who may potentially struggle with the phone or to ask for basic things that a nice or kind taxi service shouldnt have an issue doing. People also need to be aware there is no age or “look” that comes with having a disability and needing to rely on these sorts of services occasionally. I hate leaving bad reviews but I feel it’s my duty in the face of discrimination or a terrible attitude for a grown 6 foot something man towards a 37 year old 5’2” female who just needed a tiny bit of kindness and accommodation.

Always a nice taxi ride,not that uneasy feeling u can get I some taxis. And we went to Bournemouth lol. Paul made us feel like friends. We also had our son whom has special needs and he was fantastic with little man. Great taxis service best in Glastonbury by far

Friendly and accommodating - Mark on the phone was lovely as was the driver.Mark was understanding when we asked to move the pick up to a bit later and said 5.30 maybe 5.35. We were going to and from a wedding so it was a bit disappointing when we were only collected at 5.50.Mark also quoted £20 for both journeys but for the second trip we were charged £30.
