Hagley Road Retirement Village

Lovely place I visited someone here for 9yrs and she loved it here.She has passed now unfortunately.

Retirement village with over 250 apartments. Was there for lunch on a weekday. Fairly usual fare at a reasonable price.Why do people put cheese on top of a shepherd's pie? Had all day breakfast which was short of an egg! 2 small rashers of bacon, lots of beans and 2 toughish sausages; one of which jumped off the plate when I tried to put my fork in. Decent enough dining area with good armchairs. Service was a bit slow as only 1 waitress.

A fabulous place to live your retirement in if you want to be near the centre of Birmingham. On entering it is like walking into a classy hotel. There is a restaurant that serves lovely food, reasonably priced, a hairdressers, a room where you can have art lessons and learn other things. I think there is a nurse on sight. We have only been in one flat. It was beautifully decorated and equipped. You need never be lonely there because there is plenty to do.

I visited to run a craft stall here, and oh my goodness! It's like a club or a cruise ship or something. Lots of community and activity. People walking past with snooker cues and tennis rackets. Lovely grounds. A reasonably priced cafe. And a fully equipped woodwork room. Getting old looks fun!

I recently visited this place as I had a stall on the family fun day they were having. The staff are very friendly and polite, the place was a lot bigger than I expected and I was surprised at what facilities they had for the reaidents. They have a shop onsite, a bar, a bistro, gym, cashpoint etc.There was plenty of parking spaces out the front, including disabled bays. They have a mini market every Wednesday where the residents and their families can browse items such as clothing, footwear, jewellery etc I will also be going back and having a little stall with my body shop products.They have indoor and outdoor seating areas, there are always members of staff floating around in case you need to speak to them. They have many activities they run from what I saw on the notice board. There not much else to say, it was a lovely place and such a lovely, comfortable, clean and well looked after place.

Joined the gym for over 55s. Varied equipment, friendly users, personal trainer. Am really enjoying it. You can have membership or pay as you go. Situated inside a retirement village with shop, beauty parlour, hairdresser and bistro (when open) .

Visited an elderly relative there. Definitely not a good place for retirement. Not user friendly. Soiled carpets. Leaking ceilings. Corridors unsafe with parked scooters, zimmer frames, wheelchairs blocking access and a fire and mobility risk .After 10 years everything seems to be falling apart with broken ceiling panels and worn dirty carpets of dog urine etc.Welcome to Hagley Road Village and take a walk INSIDE.
