Dreadful service. Slow and crowded. Staff are rarer than unicorns. Spent three hours in a vestibule with ten other poor souls. Just drive if you can. Impossible to work on one of their services. Pure misery.

Joke of a service from cross country today. It was delayed, crowded, noisy and bouncy only good thing was the nice staff but, that was it. Cross country need to improve their game soon or that franchise will be gone.

Changed the train from 7 coaches to 4 (one was first class) so they effectively halves a full trip from cheltenham to Edinburgh, offered no refund or compensation, it was like musical chairs to have people with disabilities to have a seat and staff were yelling at people to move back while the train was full and all coaches were full of people standing... Total safety hazard. Must have been this company’s first day operating. Pitiful… avoid at all cost.

First I want to say that the employees I have met on the trains have been brilliant and working in what appears to be a horrific company. I have travelled a lot with Cross Country from Stockport to Birmingham in 1st class however, the first class is no better than economy apart from a wider seat.No catering of any description because they got rid of the host's in 1st class" and it was left to the train manager to do as well as check tickets through the whole train. They need to get their act together or lose this franchise as the cost of the tickets are too expensive to reflect a service which is non existent.CrossCountry get it sorted out."

I am currently sat on the 11:21 Stafford to Birmingham New Street Train Coach D Train / SaunaWhen I arrive at New Street I’ll probably be 5kg lighter due to the Saharan temperatures of this coach.Considering you’ve charged me over 100 quid for the privilege of melting I’d expect at least some form of air conditioningThe Wi-Fi is also laughably bad - worse than dial up but in fairness this isn’t exclusive to just Cross Country X unfortunately although you’d of thought, given you can’t afford an air conditioning system apparently, that you’d reinvest the outrageous fees you charge for trains on your it system at least - I won’t hold my breath though!

Don't even bother trying to use CrossCountry trains if you're a wheelchair user! Boarded a train from Birmingham to go to Oxford to find the space that I was allocated for my small travel scooter, full of large suitcases! Despite being told through customer services via Twitter that the space was reserved! Luckily I kicked up a fuss and after about 5 minutes and another passenger, who's luggage was in the wheelchair space, getting funny with me. I finally got into the space. But whilst having to wait, I had people behind me waiting to get onto the train! Plus I'm not the first person this has happened to! So please if you need the wheelchair space, then avoid unless you have absolutely no alternative!

Very poor customer service. I submitted a delay repay claim which takes days with GWR, it's taken months to process without even a confirmation email.Plus the seats are squeezed in with very little legroom which makes long journeys uncomfortable.

I travelled from Birmingham New Street to Derby on Sunday 9th of July on the 12-34 train I inadvertently went into a first-class, carriage. As soon as the train left Birmingham New Street the guard came through to my surprise, checked my ticket and said I was in the first class carriage. I would have to pay for an upgrade, I apologised and he said to go into another carriage they have seats available, I went into the other carriages and they did not have seats available, I then went back to the guard there were two of them in the office, I said there are not any seats available. You have people standing by the doors, could I possibly use one of the empty seats in first class, the train does not stop until Derby so I would not be taking anyone's seat, I am 72 years old my left ankle is so painful I can hardly stand up, also in London a guard said on one occasion if there are not any seats available in the other carriages, we are at liberty to provide a seat for you. Therefore you can use a first-class seat without having to pay extra if it is not booked. They said no, you would have to pay for an upgrade. I noticed that they only came through and checked people’s tickets in the first-class carriage which was 90% empty, photos are enclosed. The two of them could not be bothered to go to all the other carriages which were full up to check and see if people are travelling without a ticket. They just wanted to be awkward and just checked the first-class carriage, so they were not doing their job properly in the first place. What a shocking way to treat the passengers, they are a national disgrace. They are always on strike expecting our support and this is the way they treat you. You certainly will not get any support from me in the future.Mick Lynch, next time you appear on television, protecting your members, please mention these 2 guards sitting in their cosy office, who could not even be bothered to check all the other carriages, which were full to see if they had tickets to travel with, they would rather throw a 72-year-old pensioner who can hardly walk out of the first class carriage, which was empty. These are the type of people you are protecting. What use are they to cross-country trains.

Really bad at everything. Always full to standing, constantly delayed, over priced, unpleasant dirty old trains, bad staff attitudes. One of the worst examples of how our privately-owned public transport system is setup to drain profits abroad where they fund other countries national railway systems, in this case Germany.

Yet again waiting for a Cross Country train that is delayed by more to than 30 minutes. This time at Birmingham New Street. I should be used to it by now though. Frequently delayed, regularly cancelled, nearly always overcrowded, overpriced, cramped and filthy dirty. An absolute, utter disgraceful service that is totally unfit for purpose.
