We had a lovely weekend at Brook Meadow. The little extras like film night in the barn and the chance to collect eggs with the farmer's Wife made it that extra special. The kid's play area was good and kept our kids busy. The lake was lovely too. There was a nice little shop with a lovely lady at the desk who was very friendly and helpful. Our only critiques would be: shower and toilet blocks - fine but could do with having an extra few cubicles to avoid queues. The kitchen area - although we were very thankful for the use of the facilities, the microwave is definitely in need of replacing! Hoping to see a new one when we return :) which we definitely will.

I’m not impressed with this experience at all. I’m not doing camping a lot maybe once in 2 years but experience at Brook Meadow wasn’t the best to say.I was doing this for my experience only but next time I would never go back there doesn’t matter what.I was surprised that the kids cannot be around after 22:00 and they has to be quiet and everybody else has to be quiet.I think the planning in whole territory are unprofessional, because the families located all together with older people who possibly want the silent but kids are always shouting.I know that was mentioned in the site rules but it’s ridiculous.

Really beautiful location with a lovely walk around the lake. Facilities were clean and shower water was hot with good pressure. The plot was a really good size and accommodated out 9 man tent with no issues. The pop up food and drink cans were great and the children really enjoyed the cinema in the barn. The only negative point which could improve the experience is that I feel there could be more toilets and showers for the size of the site I think 3 toilets and ahowers is insufficient,, there was often a queue for both toilet and shower throughout the day.

I have to honest, after reading the other really positive reviews, I was disappointed overall. This review is based on my experience taking my own tent and not renting accommodation on the site.Firstly, the positives. The lake was beautiful, and plots were good sizes.Lots of trees and in the heart of nature. The campsite is located in Northamptonshire, on the Leicestershire border. This place is rural, and you’ll need to drive a fair bit to find things to do.Now the not so good…The toilet and shower block could could with a refurb. Am a bit baffled by the glowing reviews mentioning how good the facilities are. This isn’t a cheap site, and wonky taps, and loose toilet seats are a no no. I personally am not a fan of the cubicle arrangement of separate toilet and showers (cubicles could also be a bit more private).Cleanliness wasn’t great and could do with improvement. There was a strong odour in the facilitates on quite a few occasions.Fire pits (washing machine drums) charged at £5 per night, a bit stingy as many other sites offer them within the price of a night stay. The bags of wood were expensive and didn’t last long either. Again, this isn’t the cheapest of campsites to start with. This site is quite rural, and the camp shop was poorly stocked. No milk?Lastly, I have the impression the site can get a bit unruly on occasion. When we stayed it was quiet, but on the last day, lots of clapped out (some literally falling apart to the point of looking dangerous) caravans pitched up, and without sounding judgemental, the place turned a bit rough for our liking.I do wonder on reflection if the £50 holding deposit for damage/bad behaviour (again another expense not charged at other sites) is there because of previous problems with certain families. It’s by no means a bad site, but at this price point, there are better out there.

This was our first time camping as a family. Brook Meadow was the perfect start for us. Spacious fields meant we never felt cramped and a natural play area kept our child entertained. It is very clear that this site is clean and well managed.

My wife and I just had a four night stay in Kingfisher Lodge and absolutely loved it. Due to her disability we needed somewhere that was accessible but not fully adapted and the lodge fit the bill completely. It was such a relaxing break, especially sitting on the veranda sipping gin and watching the lake, ducks and geese.

We stayed four nights in Kingfisher Lodge during late May, and had a lovely break. The lodge was perfect and beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. My husband and elderly father-in-law enjoyed the fishing, and it was great that you could park right up to the lodge door and drive around the lake to your fishing spot. So great accessibility for my father-in-law, and anyone with mobility problems. The site is well cared for and in a lovely setting. We enjoyed watching the wildlife, and the peace and quiet. We loved it and can recommend.

Lovely little campsite, lovely scenery around the lake, shower block and toilets always clean and tidy. Fisherman lodge is a nice added touch with fully fitted kitchen for those who camp without electric. Always look forward to return to Brooke Meadows.
