Higher Ferry Saltney Footbridge

It's so peaceful down here. Even though there other walkers, cyclists, dog walkers it's vast enough to have your own space and even when you pass by close people are very respectful and friendly. It feels a lot more rural than it is. I love it.

Welsh coastal path makes for a good surface to walk or cycle along, even when the weather is foul. Pedestrians & cyclists are by and large considerate of one another and there is plenty of wildlife to spot along the way. If you like plane spotting Beluga is a frequent flyer into Harwarden airfield just across the Dee.

Parking improved, bridge clean, lovely scenery lots of bird life.

Very clean and a great place for a walk on a sunny day.

Very quiet, it would have been nice to get down to the riverbank which looked almost like a sandy beach.

Love this bridge,remember standing looking over it when it was only half built around the mid 70's... we had a caravan just off ferry lane to which we had so many amazing holidays in till about 1980.the sun seemed to shine forever.if I had a penny for every time I swam across the river dee,wow !!! Never forget standing on the bridge and watching and waiting for the white line to appear coming from the Queensferry bridge only to see it turn into a gushing tidal wave what seemed to be a 100ft high(as a kid) pulling sometimes full size trees in its deafening trail.... absolutely amazing memories ❤️
