Had a bit of an odd experience here today. Learning to lead climb with a friend who is a qualified instructor & we got told we weren't signed off on lead- absolutely fine, we weren't, we didn't even think of it. So the guy decided to watch to make sure it was being done right, it was only the second ever lead route one of us had done, & the first was today. Being watched made the climber nervous so she clipped too high, the instructor shook his head, then shook his head at my instructor friends belaying. Again, we're all very happy that safety is being taken so seriously so that wasn't a problem, the problem came when rather than quietly trying to talk to our friend about what he saw as wrong he angrily chewed him out loudly in front of us & the whole gym. My friend is a quiet, shy person & it totally threw off our day. No issues with the safety, but didn't like the way it was dealt with.

Very friendly staff at this the first clip n climb of the brand. So I have to compare it to the Weston super Mare version which I was more familiar with before moving to Taunton. I think this one has more climbs but has a feeling of being quite crowded by comparison. Certainly the pillars on Stairway to Heaven are definitely more shoogly than the newer ones in Weston which I normally do in strides. Couldn't get to the top of this one though.Overall well maintained and adjacent to a proper" climbing centre and well stocked cafe. Would be 5 star if it weren't for the compact nature of the centre."

We were there for a Physio therapy session. What a great idea to use the old Power & Light power station dating from 1906 as an indoor climbing centre.

Learnt to climb here & now years later come back and the training facilities are so good! Great new board room and fantastic routes. Great cafe and place to work too. Staff are lovely. Wish I could bring this centre home with me.

My child loves climbing since we went last year on a birthday party. Everything was straight forward and there is always staff around to help. Parking is easy and it’s warm in the cafe when you wait.

Fabulous induction by Lee today. I was nervous as I hadn’t climbed in 5 years!! And I had forgotten everything. But I learnt so much more than I did 5 years ago. Crazy! Lee was very friendly and helpful, great teacher. Can’t wait for my next session. If you’re nervous, like me, just do it! The guys here are so friendly, and the induction will go so quickly. Very good routes to follow for beginners. Also, 9 auto belays (a lot more than 5 years ago I think) and it wasn’t too busy for a Saturday afternoon at 2pm. Winner!

First time here, great site and staff. Very friendly and helpful. Only knocked a star off as a screw on one wall tore a hole in my stickies. (It was dealt with as soon as I mentioned it.)

Dropped in to check it out and maybe just have a coffee. Turned into a clip and climb session after coffee. Friendly staff, and wide range of climbing from novice to advanced with some huge walls in the old power station building.

We loved climbing here with our 5 year old. Very family friendly climbing centre with a great selection of top rope and auto belay sections.
