Wonderful week. The experience of learning to work with all the different tools was absorbing, and the work really satisfying. The instruction was clear and Danny and his colleagues always on hand to help. They did a great job of keeping the group progressing at the same pace, created a great atmosphere and provided delicious lunches. And my chair is getting many compliments from friends who never thought I could do something like that. Highly recommended

The stool making course was just great and in a beautiful setting. Got to try loads of different tools and techniques and came home with a stool which I am very proud of. Camping was lovely in the woodland and the food was great. Highly recommend

Last week I spent the MOST fantastic two days, sitting in a beautiful bluebell wood, listening to the birds, making a stool from tree trunks, with a great group of people and thoroughly enjoyed every minute!I can't recommend Sussex Green Woodworking highly enough.Danny is such a good teacher, his skills are incredible and he really does work hard to ensure you have a great time creating your very own masterpiece!Jodie, Danny's right hand girl" is also on hand to offer wonderful help and advice. She's great fun and she too is talented in making something wonderful out of a stump!It wasn't until I got home that I realised I hadn't stopped smiling from start to finish. It's such a relaxing thing to do and such a welcome break from the desk and computer - soul food. I wish I could do it everyday.Oh

Just had one of the most enjoyable weeks of my life in the tranquil woods of Sussex, making a chair and enjoying superb teaching, fabulous food and the many hands of support from the most encouraging team. Having already made a stool which was a great confidence builder, I can honestly say I am thrilled with my growing furniture collection! I cannot recommend these courses highly enough.

Superb five day course; with no prior woodworking training I managed to produce a bespoke chair! This was down to the expert tuition provided by the whole team, their inexhaustible patience and sharpening skills. I can't thank you enough for an unforgettable week in the beautiful Sussex woods. I had a brilliant five days making a windsor chair out of green ash. Having never done anything like this before, I was lacking confidence. Using traditional hand tools was demanding but very satisfying. Danny and Jodie were fantastic in the support they gave us and I am very pleased with my finished chair. Totally inspirational. Many, many thanks.

Excellent! A 2 day course to convert a tree stump into a finely crafted stool, all in a workshop sited in a remote Sussex woodland. As an inept DIYer (I struggle with Ikea flat packs) I wouldn't have thought it possible but Danny and his team proved me wrong. Lunches were filling and tasty, company from fellow attendees was warm and friendly and all round it was an enriching experience. Plus I now have a rather natty wooden stool to show off to everyone!!

Had the best two days in Sussex woodland, starting with an actual log and somehow turning it into a little 4 legged stool! My first attempt at any sort of woodwork -I still can’t believe I made it! Danny, Jodie and Peter showed incredible skill and a lot of patience guiding me along the way. Lovely food, great company and lots of laughs. The most lovely thing about my stool though is that it already holds memories- from how I came to be on the course, to the people I met whilst making it. Planning on adding to my furniture collection with table and chair courses…

Slowly adjusting back to normal life after a wonderful week learning to make a green wood Windsor chair. Danny, Jodie and Peter are fabulous; friendly, encouraging, funny and knowledgeable. Set in a beautiful, off grid wood, it's physically hard work but utterly engrossing and the atmosphere is brilliant. Coffee, tea and snacks are plentiful, lunch is great and Danny's flapjacks should be famous! I also had the pleasure of camping for the week, so was able to enjoy the peace and quiet of the woodland out of hours. At the end of the week, despite my lack of experience and, at times, confidence, I am the proud maker of a beautiful chair and confident that I can continue to practice my new skills. A thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding week, can't recommend it highly enough!
