Lacock Photography

I attended the Photography Masterclass here in November 2021. I've attended quite a few different photography courses over the years but this was the first one with Lacock Photography.Class size was 6, with plenty of separation between people and excellent covid protection measures in place.The class itself was absolutely superb, the tutor James is a lifelong professional photographer and really knows his stuff. Many of the concepts I hadn't even encountered before, and he brought to us a superb approach to photography that had everyone learning something they didn't know before. The pace of the class was ideal, it's not for beginners and this was reflected in the content and expectations of the tutor. However don't let this deter you, if you are fairly confident about adjusting your depth of field and exposure while taking photographs and know your camera then you'll really get the maximum out of this particular course.Highly recommended, I'd seriously consider repeating this course it was so good, but will definitely be back with Lacock Photography sometime in the future. Thanks to everyone for organising the course!

I loved this course. It was informative and taught at just the right pace for a beginner. The venue is superb and Fiona the trainer made us feel very at ease and was wonderfully knowledgeable and patient.A mixture of theory and practical was a perfect combination.I will most certainly be going back to attend other courses there.

Fiona is a fantastic instructor, who taught the beginners course in a very practical, relaxed, and easy to understand manner. The day flew by and I finally found out how to use my camera after years of neglect. The course is a good mix of tutorial and practical experience and I was very happy with the resulting photos. Highly recommend the course to anyone who is struggling to get to grips with their camera and is stuck in 'auto' mode.

Lacock Photography came highly recommended to me, and I wasn’t disappointed.The most beautiful setting, a venue that is perfect for learning and taught by the most knowledgeable of hosts .Fiona was interesting, very knowledgable, adept at conveying things in layman’s terms, for a novice like myself, and engaging.Thoroughly enjoyed my time at Lacock Photography and will be back to gain a greater understanding in a friendly and inviting environment.

An absolutely amazing course which was taught at just the right pace for a beginner! I went in as someone who loved taking photos but lacked the confidence and knowledge to take my camera off Auto Mode, and now I’ve learnt how to take lovely photos adjusting the settings myself to suit the conditions. Fiona was so enthusiastic and made everyone feel at ease. She was wonderfully patient with us newbies and spent time helping me set up my camera correctly. The mixture of theory and practical was perfect and it was lovely to wander round beautiful Lacock in the afternoon taking photos of the lovely flowers that seemed to have put on a display just for us! I would certainly recommend this beginners part 1 course and will hopefully be back to attend further courses in the future.

Very enjoyable day doing a beginners photography course. Fiona is very talented and knowledgeable. The course was pitched at the right level for beginners and I learnt so much. Very keen to continue to the next level. I would highly recommend Lacock Photgraphy.

Intermediate course with Marcus McAdam - excellent informative tuition in a great setting with Lacock village an absolute treasure in which to practice what you're learning. I would thoroughly recommend the course, venue and tutor.

It started with booking a trip to Iceland for the Northern Lights and realising I was out of my depth with the concept of M settings. After an email to Fiona she worked out a half day 1 to 1 tuition session. In a relaxed setting and at a very good pace she first sorted some settings on the camera and taught me the way to use Manual. It's easy when you know how...I didn't. Can't recommend Lacock Photography highly enough.

I enjoyed the master’s course offered by Lacock Photography last weekend. There were only six places on the course to ensure that everyone got one to one support and yet the group worked very well together. There was a great combination of the technical and practical activities with lots of positive feedback. The venue is beautiful and it was a very positive experience.
