Upper Brook House Farm (Viewing By Appointment Only)

James has sourced six rare breed ducks in two transactions for me in the last few months.The first transaction in early April 2023 was for 2x exceptional Abacot Ranger ducks which I collected from Upper Brook House Farm thanks to James acquiring them for me. His relative who greeted me on arrival was quite knowledgable and very friendly, showing me some of his other livestock on the farm.These ladies were already laying eggs on his property and integrated into my flock without issue producing nice white eggs.I have just completed my second transaction on 22 July 2023 collecting 2x Buff Orpington ducks and 2x Welsh Harlequin ducks from a supplier vetted and recommended by James. The Buff Orpington ducks look massive and very much appear to be show quality. They seem to be integrating fine after the 24hours they have been here, though initially were very quacky, probably because of the 3hour car ride. The Welsh harlequins are doing fine too, having no problems so far. I didn’t realise until I got to the supplier that there was a choice of hooded welsh harlequin so I got one of each. No eggs from these four ladies despite being 6-12months in age, but there is plenty of time for that.They make fantastic additions to my pet flock which I’m capping at 14 ducks, I have the potential to breed these rare variety ducks in the future due to the quality specimens I have been supplied.Can’t that you enough James, keep up the good work.

I recently purchased two beautiful ducks from James and my experience has been wonderful. It’s our first time owning ducks and James gave me all the information I needed and provided us with two beautiful ducks.I went at collected them and there they were waiting for me. The colourings on the ducks are absolutely beautiful.We will definitely be back for more ducks in the future

I'm delighted with the Muscovies and the Gander that I bought from James at Upper Brook House Farm. James, the proprietor, is very knowledgeable about poultry and he is very happy to share his knowledge. James and his family were all very helpful when I visited them.I was able to see where the birds had been reared and the parent stock. The conditions for the poultry were excellent, they had obviously been reared to a high standard with animal welfare the highest priority. James also pays particular attention to selecting his breeding stock and I know he is sourcing the best that he can get for 2018. I highly recommend Upper Brook House farm for Poultry and Waterfowl.

I recently bought two Call Duck Drakes from James and the team at Upper Brook House Poultry. The birds are in excellent condition and have a lovely temperament. The service was excellent, all my questions were answered promptly and when collecting the birds all the staff were lovely. I will definitely use Upper Brook House again and highly recommend them.

Having purchased eight 5 day old Mallard ducklings in April 2021, we couldn’t be happier with our stunningly beautiful flock of Mallards. We did expect to end up with more males than females getting them at such a young age but we were very lucky to end up with only 1 male & 7 females! They are absolutely amazing little characters and they bring us so much fun. We also collected a young pair of white call ducks for a friend at the same who are also thriving.James Shilton at Upper Brook House Farm is extremely helpful and friendly and promptly responds to all messages supplying lots of information and lovely photographs of the ducks. He supplied us with 8 very strong and healthy mallard ducklings and the 2 calls which we collected from the beautiful estate in Staffordshire.The ducklings were a birthday gift for our daughter for her 8th Birthday. She has handled them daily since we collected them and has them eating from her hands and they enjoy lots of cuddles whether they like it or not!We wanted a different breed of call ducks to add to our collection & James was also very helpful in sourcing us 3 pairs of pet quality silver Appleyards from one of his successors which we collected from Ellesmere Port in June. These are also very healthy beautiful birds. James couldn’t be anymore helpful and informative and I would highly recommend him to anyone who want to source quality waterfowl. Nothing is any trouble and as a result I will continue to buy from him in the future when we want more birds.Thank you James for the fantastic ducks you have supplied us with so far :-)

James was extremely helpful when I was deciding which breed of ducks to get. He replied in depth to many emails, and I am so pleased with the breed I chose. He helped me with housing queries, and then sourced some really lovely ducks. I’m very pleased to have had James there to help me start my duck owning journey.

Purchased a single Saxony duck from Upper Brook Farm House. Quality of the stock available on offer was top class.The service offered by the owner (James) was flawless. The communication was speedy and frictionless. A complimentary book on how to look after the ducks, written by the UBFH team themselves, was given upon purchase of the duck - this was very informative and highlights the attention to detail in the service offered.

Highly recommend- I placed an order for a pair of Saxony ducks, which were to be hatched and grown-on by James and his team. They happily kept me up-to-date with their progress and were open to any questions. A very straightforward and professional service. The ducks arrived via courier, in great condition and it was obvious to see a lot of knowledge was put into their rearing.
