Great service friendly and very helpful on all 9 ferries I sailed :-)

We had an enjoyable ferry ride from Skye on a recent tour. The operation seemed very safe and organized. The weather cooperated and we had a lovely crossing. The ferry loaded up with cars and buses, and the ride was so smooth we could hardly tell we were on the water.

Great ferry service. Staff was very helpful to tie down the motorcycles during our trip through Scotland.

If you go to Scotland you have to use Calmac, lovely little ships.

Café was a positive surprise: salmon bagel was excellent, they had also vegan options and coffee was good!

Great trip to mull boat very nice

We travelled from Australia and were travelling around the uk by motorcycle. We thought it would be nice to visit to Skye via ferry rather than the road but we only had limited time as we had a schedule with accommodation bookings to stick to. I called the ferry office and was told there were ferries at 15:00 & 15:45 but the reservations were closed so I couldn't book a ticket. However I could just turn up and wait in the queue. The operator would not confirm how full they ferries were but that there weren't any motorcycles booked on. Thinking it was highly likely I would be able to get the motorcycle on one of these ferries, we set off from Fort William. We arrived at the ferry terminal after an hour and were greater by a lady with a clip board informing us both ferries were full and the next was 19:45.Either Mac Byrne are very disorganised and don't inform the booking office of the ferry status or they have dishonest practices in order to create a captured market at Mallaig. I was disgusted at the way they operated and returned to fort William and proceeded up the coast. Hours wasted we never got to see Skye because of Mac Brayne. I will never use their ferry services because I suspect they have the dishonest practices.
