King Katsu

Pretty great food! Had the tonkatsu burger with a side of panko chips - the tonkatsu is exactly how you'd like it to be with the tender pork and perfectly crunchy breadcrumbing, the curry sauce is fairly mild but spot on when it comes to getting that authentic Japanese flavour, and the panko chips - made in the same way that they bread their cutlets, are somewhere between a croquette and a hash brown in terms of taste and texture, and were honestly so good that I shamelessly bought a second portion instead of desert.On top of that, prices are fairly reasonable, staff are very friendly and welcoming, would definitely recommend dropping by.

Ordered the Chicken katsu curry which was brilliant. Just as good as any I've eaten I'm Tokyo. Lovely zesty citrus flavour to the curry sauce and the pickled vege was sublime. Can't wait to come back to try some other menu items.

Took a friend here who was visiting from out of town - we only visited because no where else had a table free but we were really glad we visited.The food was great and really reasonably priced. Personally, I am a fan of the reduced, industrial style but not so much of the shared tables - but I can i understand that space is limited.I’d definitely come again and recommend the food.

Tasty food at very reasonable prices. Definitely recommend adding an extra cutlet if you're feeling hungry. Not the most extensive menu, but happy to see a restaurant do fewer things well than too many things badly!

Very disappointed with my experience with katsu, after having moved to moseley just before lockdown me and my partner had drove past this a couple of times so decided to check it out after seeing they had 40% nhs discount advertised on their website. This made it more affordable for us at this time in the month. My partner rang up to order and even to confirm the nhs discount which they said was fine and to just bring in ID. He had to wait for me to finish my shift at work which I went straight to pick up so I could show my nhs card. When we arrived the girl on the counter had said the pin had blocked the discount and did not offer any other alternative but was heard by her colleague who had said 'are you sure?' But nothing was done about this. When we got our food it was luke warm and the curry sauce had actually gone hard and our guyazos were rock hard and inedible. The food was so below average and lacking flavour and we were so disappointed as it was very expensive for the quality of the food especially when we were told we were being given 40% off. Would not recommend to anyone.

Quite disappointed, wasn't busy untill we were about to leave. Was told that they didn't have any pork off the menu which left prawn and chicken or veggie not the end of the world but at 5:30 on a Saturday ? However my Katsu chicken curry had good flavour and I like curry sauce and rice but the panko chicken wasn't good. Cheap unpleasant chicken and the panko coating came away from the chicken which I found weird having cooked panko chicken many times and it never happened to me My wife's Ramen was okay she said nothing to write home about , I don't think will return sadly which is a real shame because we really wanted to like the place being a small independent and coming from the street food background.teally want to support a small business, Real shame. The Beer was good though! Wish them luck and I think they will do well ,but I just didn't dig it.

Food was fine for what it is but why would anyone go there? Hard stools with shared bench tables.....no comfortno privacy. Come on people! The Evergreen takeaway is around the corner, half the price with twice the flavour. Sorry but it’s a no brainer

The service was wonderful especially the women with the extremely friendly face and 2 plats. The food was amazing and tasted delightful. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for sure.
