Santander Cycles: Queen's Gate, Kensington Gardens

If ever there was a an illustration of the gulf in government largesse between north and south London, it is here in this one picture. As I stood at a TfL docking station I suddenly realised I wasn't at the one I thought I was at but fear not, because literally within the same camera shot yes that's another one right across the road. Here London government is only too generous, with expansive provision on your doorstep. Unfortunately the chances of the same situation occurring in the south are laughable. Down south the equivalent services are sparse if we're lucky, unreliable and we're forced to scrap over them because there's never enough supply to meet demand.

If cycling along the southern side of Hyde Park, this is a good place to stop. No parking allowed further west here without having to leave the park.
