With having been taking lessons for guitar with Neil for a while, I can firmly say that my progress has skyrocketed with his help. He is a phenomenal professional in performance and theory, whilst still remaining completely down to earth and fun. With his experience he knows exactly how to get you to wherever you want to be with your instrument, and beyond. I couldn’t ask for a better tutor.

My 14 year old son has been taught by Neil for over 5 years and during that time he has learned to love playing guitar . Neil’s love of guitar is inspirational to his pupils and I would have no hesitation in recommending Neil as a music tutor . He is a superb guitar performer and has a degree level knowledge of music theory and has a huge appreciation and range of different musical genre and Is therefore able to offer lessons in all areas of music including singing . Whatever your level Neil is definitely the best tutor in Liverpool and beyond !

I’ve been a student of Neil‘s for 6 years now and in that time he’s transformed my playing considerably. I was a guitarist struggling to grasp the techniques and theory involved in both rhythm and lead guitar and after years of hard work and great teaching, I’m becoming the guitarist I always wanted to be. Music theory was always a daunting thing for me to learn but with Neil’s enthusiasm towards this subject in particular, we’re now making fantastic progress. Great teacher, would advise anybody looking to take guitar/music seriously to spend some time in his lessons.

Neil is one of the best vocal coaches out there - he really knows his stuff and takes the time to get to know you as an individual so he knows exactly how to help you perfect your craft. He really built my confidence in singing, giving me techniques and teaching me how to refine songs so they were at performance level. He also taught me a lot about the science behind the voice, giving me a greater depth of understanding. He’s a lovely teacher who I would recommend to anyone.

I approached Neil three years ago as somebody who, in their mid-fifties - having never touched a guitar before - wanted to become a Flamenco guitarist. I can only try to imagine how horrified Neil was!I am still very much a beginner but I've stuck with it and have done so largely through Neil's help and encouragement. Neil brings extensive knowledge and ability with the guitar together with an infectious enthusiasm. He has the ability to focus on the details of where things might be going wrong and to provide solutions.Thank you for all of your help Neil. I have begun a lengthy journey and as I continue with that journey I know that I have an extremely capable guide to help me along the way.

Neil played a huge part in getting me into university by helping me achieve my grade 5 theory and grade 6 guitar in under a year. He has taught me so in in guitar, singing and theory and he is a great teacher in all areas of music. Definitely the best music teacher in Liverpool!

Have only been having lessons with Neil for a couple of months just over Zoom and have been absolutely loving them. I was self taught on guitar as a teenager and it's been great to see how much more you learn with a teacher. I've learned so much more theory so quickly. Before I just couldnt get it to stick. He teaches other things too and so I'm looking forward to working on voice and bass too.

Often you find teachers who are brilliant at their craft but struggle to impart their wisdom. Neil, however, is the whole package - an extremely talented and knowledgeable guitarist who's very down to earth and teaches in a very modern, unregimented style that caters to the path you want to take. He doesn't throw grade books at you (unless that's what you want!) he listens, is always up for a chat and works out what path you need to take to achieve your personal goals.I set out just to become a bog standard rhythm guitarist but Neil has introduced me to more advanced theory and cool techniques in a very approachable way that makes me feel like a more accomplished musician and makes me want to learn more.As someone with a very busy schedule, he keeps adapting to make sure I'm getting the most out of my lessons and keeps me passionate and enthusiastic about learning the instrument. Above all, his lessons are just fun, whether it's studying theory or jamming, I always leave a lesson feeling more fulfilled about my journey as a guitarist.
