Mon Timber

Happy with these guys pretty much got what we need everytime we need them. Prices are fair and decent lots of timber diversity, indoor and outdoor. The boys are on it picking the timber for you and they're forklift driving is top notch always impresses me.

Well I have used mon timber for at least 40 years even when they were over lliswerry. I am not a regular customer but if I needed timber I would use them has they always give good service and fair prices well today changed that.I want some timber cut to suit my needs all I had off one of the yard hands was all I could do for you is there is a tape and a saw help your self well I did not some might think I am being petty but would I be covered by their insurance if I had accident??????.

Avoid! Or make sure phone calls are recorded on your end, sounds ridiculous I know. After multiple phone call to discuss the price and floor, we travelled from the west midlands to Newport to pick up a great floor at a bargain price. When we arrived none of the previous communications have been passed to the relevant person, therefore Richard had no idea what we had came for and the agreed price. So moving on from that we chose a slightly different floor as recommended by Richard, loads the packs and came to pay. The price to pay was more than double the original price and fare enough was slightly different but to be told there was no flooring of that price agreed on the phone, they don't know who we would have spoken to there was nothing they would do. He said we should of noted who we spoke to and had a written copy of the price to prove it, however this is very difficult when they didnt even send a copy for us to prove the price! We were also told by another worker and us apologising to him for loading and unloading it into the car, that this happens at least once a week, shocking to say the least. Very disappointed, wasted trip and still no floor!

Very good Scaffolding Boards and their cutting service is beneficial. Staff are a nice friendly bunch. It was exciting to see the inside of a timber factory. I would have liked a go at one of their machines.

Great place. Massive selection of timber and fixings, including hardwoods and in-house engineered timber (trusses and joists etc.) All the lads are really helpful both in the office and in the yard. Prices are very competitive as well. Been recently bought out by Premier Timber so time will tell if any changes take place. Hopefully not.

Bad experience. I’ve used Mon Timber previously, both personal and through business and have been very happy with wood quality upon delivery, however, collecting from Mon Timber Newport as a public customer is a different experience. Car parking isn’t clear, needing to park close to the wood supply was necessary as I’m disabled and Mon Timber are unable to support loading a vehicle. This was followed by extremely rude comments on the parking by what I suspect is the manager/owner. The customer experience overshadows the product. Don’t sell to public on site if you cannot provide appropriate services. Update site parking instructions and be more supportive. If a truck hit my car, it’s your fault, don’t disrespect and humiliate customers. Neither my business nor myself will be using Mon Timber again.

An excellent place to get your timber, very competitive prices, extremely good choice of stock.Quality Product up there with the very best.Customer service is excellent.

I have bought from Montimber for quite a few years and only them for my wood products, before Montimber I bought from the usual second grade timber dealer diy stores of newport which is ok if you like waney edge planed timber when it's meant to be straight, .Mon timber are far more superior with such high quality and knowledgeable staff and is my one stop shop if i want quality at a better price which i obviously do.Try them professionally or privately you won't be disappointed.

Excellent Service From Cardiff Hadfield Road Branch. I am a DIYer who wanted some50mmx50mm square planed timber. I rang, they checked they had it in stock. I went, they got it out for me and even helped me to the car. I was delighted with both the service and the price. Best place for timber around Penarth according to my experience.
