Great Hall Cafe
Very much enjoyed our coffee and cake. Had to tidy up the table left by the previous group unfortunately.

the overall foods were nice but the staff’s service was TERRIBLE! we asked for extra bacon on our sandwich but she was too ignorant and asked us to buy another bacon sandwich while sighing all the time. really ruined our mood on this beautiful trip day to the train museum.

Soup was lovely but no bread as ran out loaded hot chocolate but no marshmallows was available as run out bit disappointing but maybe a off busy day .

Bring a packed lunch.The food is extremely over priced, £19 for two sandwiches, a pack of crisps and three drinks. They also have an extremely limited choice and run out of food too quickly, there was only one type of sandwich left and zero kids meals by 1:30.

I did enjoy the food but please BEWARE of the aprés 3pm cake and coffee deal. The sign CLEARLY states that ANY cake and tea or American is £4.95. However this is indeed misleading as it is only traybakes or scones. Ended up overpaying due to their misleading marketing. The refund process was tiresome.

TERRIBLE service TERRIBLE attitude, it's like they don't want to be there. We only wanted 4 hot drinks and it was as if we were speaking a different language!!! There is no customer service, etc.... disgraceful! Then being stared at by 2 female members of staff while they were clearly talking about us after we had to request milk in a coffee they had failed to add...very rude

The only gluten free options was celery soup so I brought my own lunch. For the rest of the group there were lots of options and they ate well. Quite slow, but the places was packed. The staff was great. Lots of places to sit and eat, or just hand out while you wait for the train enthusiast in the group to finally catch up. All very clean

The menu of meal deal is very misleading, and while mentioning cake is included in the set, not every cake is included. The staff can’t be bothered to explain anything. They have very unhelpful service attitude. You just get your own cake without knowing whether it’s included in the set. I ended up paying more money than I expected and they just don’t care. The floor of the cafe is filled with rubbish and jam, crisps food scraps and no staff to clean up.

Absolutely awful today. Cold burger and chips, a falafel salad made of sawdust, no choice, slow service. I gave up waiting for a coffee as it was so slow . Never again
