Came with 5 and 1 year old, both loved it. There is an under-7s area at the top floor which has soft play, den/construction area, tunnels, little interactive areas, dress up rail, play kitchen and shop, lots of whiteboards to colour in animals, easels with paper, writing stations and a book area too. There is a planetarium and film screening area, there is a 10 minute film for the younger kids. My 5 year old really loved some of the pop-up play areas around the ground floor and first floor. Her favourite was presenting the weather! Lots of STEM/ science activities that are a lot of fun. Both kids made rockets to go on the jump rocket launcher. 1 year old lasted 3 hrs before nap time and we did 4.5hrs with the 5year old but could have stayed longer! Food is available on site but lots of people brought packed lunch and there are games/activity areas so you can sit and eat and the kids still go off and play. Really great place, I highly recommend!!

First visit with my two boys (4 and 6). Next to station made it an easily accessible and great day out. Plenty of activities for children and interactive exhibits and shows. Staff very helpful - particularly when I had a bag that the lockers couldn't accommodate so showed me alternatives. Will be back

If you're a wandering tourist interested in stuff like genetics, plant physiology, animal conservation or other actual LIFE sciences, don't be misled by the name of this place. It's a science center whose target audience is kids, and it does that job wonderfully. It is NOT an educational center that specializes in life sciences.

A Fantastic Day Out for the Whole Family at Life Science Centre, NewcastleI had the most amazing day at the Life Science Centre in Newcastle with my little one! From the moment we stepped in, my child was mesmerized by the interactive exhibits that made science so much fun and easy to understand. We explored everything from the wonders of space to the fascinating human body, and my kid's eyes lit up with excitement at every display. The planetarium show was the highlight of the visit - it felt like we were on a thrilling adventure through the stars! While we enjoyed most of the exhibits, there were a couple that needed some fixing. However, that didn't spoil the overall fun we had exploring and playing together. We took a break at the cafe to recharge, and my kid loved the tasty snacks and drinks they offered. It was a nice little break in between all the excitement.Overall, the Life Science Centre is an excellent place for families with curious and energetic kids. We had such a blast that my little one can't stop talking about the visit. I'm giving it four stars because of the minor issues with a few exhibits, but it's a must-visit for families seeking an engaging and educational experience!

Had a brilliant day here today came with my 2 year old, 5 year old and 8 year old. Decided to come here as was looking for somewhere which was autism friendly and I am so glad we travelled up here there was so much to do and perfect for my sons on the spectrum. I really loved the play area upstairs there was so much space for them to run around and play and for us to have a rest, the kids play kitchen area was a really big hit for my kids loved how it was so realistic. Would definitely recommend to friends and family and will return again in the near future.

Annual membership is great value especially if you have a young family ... There is plenty to do for a full afternoon, great science experiments, planetarium, shows and soft play with play area for younger kids. As an annual pass member you also get 10% off shopping and food in the on-site cafe. However, if you prefer your own picnic, there is a designated area to have it as well.

Had a great day here yesterday with my son, so much to do and see. Great for a rainy day. Lots of things for kids all ages to get involved in. We were here 2 hours but my son would of stayed longer. Staff really helpful and friendly.

It is a building situated near the Newcastle Railway Station. It seems to be a joint venture of NHS and Newcastle University. I had gone there as part of the covid vaccination. It seems to have a lot of scientific exhibitions or knowledge-related things inside it, and the name suggests LIFE". It has a big inner space between the buildings that have various events in different seasons like in winter

We spent all day here - literally from opening until closeI'd definitely go back if I'm in the area again! From making our own cardboard faces, to the live science show about our gruesome bodies, the 2 planetarium shows, all the interactive exhibits... and the best bit for me was donning the lab coat and goggles doing actual experiments such as mixing acids and alkalis, and doing forensic fingerprinting! And the admission price was 10% off with it being last week of summer holidays
