Went for a quiet drink on a Sunday evening in July with the family. Beer was good. Staff excellent. We could hear ourselves talking without booming music, very pleasant.Unfortunately we were very politely told they would be closing up soon and therefore we would have to leave. The time..... 8.30pm. what the heck!To be fair there was only us in the pub, sitting quietly in a corner, listening to the thunderstorm outside. .... Ah well. We'll be back, but hopefully be able to leave when we want to!

Great service from lovely friendly staff. Clean, good atmosphere and most importantly a good selection of beer. Looking forward to going back on our next visit to Saltburn.

We stayed in a hotel in Saltburn for two nights in May. We went to the Victoria pub on the Friday and despite the boards saying food until 8:00 they had stopped serving food at 7:00. We went back on Saturday because of the good reviews. My wife had fish and chips which was ok. I had the chilli with rice. It was without doubt the worst meal I have ever had. The mince was very watery/ greasy with very little else in it to give it flavour other than chilli flakes.

The pub itself is really old and one would say 'no frills' but it's friendly and the carvery was nice. All the food seemed home cooked, like the Yorkshires, stuffing and gravy.We didn't know that they serve the food upstairs, so just take note if you have mobility problems. But it's not a problem and I'm sure the staff would be willing to help.Give it a try, places like this need the custom.

Sunday carvery meat dry, tinned peas, Carrots runner beans and Sweetcorn Brockley Cauliflower cheese mash and gravy lovely. Would not go again
