The Bristol Montessori
Well, what can I say?! A lot! The Bristol Montessori are honestly the most wonderful childcare setting you could ever wish for for your little one. Not only set in a beautiful building which is set up like a home from home but the teachers are second to none. The most carefully selected kind, gentle and knowledgeable bunch of humans who know the Montessori ethos inside and out. They all show love and kindness to your child and help each and every one settle in like a member of the family. The materials and subjects the children use and learn are much more advanced than traditional nursery settings and the diversity and multiculturalism children are taught is wonderful. It’s a sad day when your children finish their montessori journey with Miss Pegah and her amazing team x

My little boy is almost 4 and has been attending this school for over a year now. When he first joined - he barely made connections with anyone and played mostly by himself. The difference between then and now is staggering. His speech improved tremendously, he is so very proud of the little things he is learning to do every day and he loves talking about anything and everything. He has built friendships with other children and is very enthusiastic about going to school in the morning. The facilities are fantastic - the school has hundreds of Montessori props and educational toys. The staff is friendly, caring and very consistent with daily routines which makes it so much easier to keep things organised at home. If you want your child to be independent, confident yet kind and respectful - I would thoroughly recommend this school. The way the Bristol Montessori helped my little boy is incredible. Thank you.

Our son loves going to the Bristol Montessori. He even asks to go at the weekend. After lockdown in a house with two other children (both slightly older), the calm environment the school has to offer has really helped his development. The people who work there not only care for the kids but help to promote their individuality and independence.Despite having two older children, this has been our first experience of a Montessori school. We are really impressed and would certainly recommend anybody to visit and see how different the children behave with the freedom of choice and responsibility, even at such young ages.

We moved our daughter to the Bristol Montessori from another setting which we were not unhappy with, but felt she was would benefit from a change and bigger group of children. We are so pleased with our decision. Our child enjoys the variety and choice of activities and has made a lovely group of new friends who have been so welcoming. I’m always impressed with the calmness and organisation at pick up/drop off. The team have made important changes to routines, including regular deep cleaning, to step up to the challenge of operating in the new C-19 environment. Our child is delighted to be back at Montessori after so many weeks of lockdown and for me that says it all!I didn’t know what to expect from the Montessori approach and feel the significant focus on independent exploration and learning will set her up well from the move the school in September.Thank you TBM team

My 2 girls have attended The Bristol Montessori, the youngest is still with them. We were very sad to see some truly brilliant teachers leave in the past year, but despite these changes my youngest is very happy at this setting and I feel is being well prepared for her transition to school in September. We extend our thanks to the staff for their ongoing care.

After visiting lots of nurseries across Bristol I finally found a place I felt at ease leaving my two little ones. There are many things which drew me to The Bristol Montessori, the environment, which is welcoming, calm and full of fantastic resources and interesting things to explore! The teachers, who from the get-go demonstrated both their knowledge and enthusiasm, and the nurseries Montessori ethos. As a parent with two children attending the Bristol Montessori simultaneously, I have already noticed positives to them attending a setting which allows children of all ages to mix. My eldest has been practising empathy and acting as a support system to his little sister, a skill I hope he continues to harness. As well as my littlest learning from her brother and her elder peers, she is also recognising how she can support those younger than her. I love that the setting allows for such relationships to grow.I also love the independence I am already noticing flourish, from putting on their own shoes and socks, to laying tables ready for meals and helping to tidy things away.Importantly they are having so much fun whilst learning lots! I love hearing about their days in each of the different rooms, which they can explore as they wish and seeing pictures of them getting involved each week. The teachers are always happy to have a chat at pick up time about the day which is really important to me. My children always come out of the door at the end of the day with big smiles.A big plus point for me is the connection to the natural world the nursery encourages which is perfect for my little nature and animal lovers. The garden and forest school area is beautiful, and weekly forest school trips are also a bonus!I am super exited to continue to witness both of my children’s journeys at the Bristol Montessori and could not recommend it enough!

My Son has been there for over 1 year and has had some difficulties Learning, the care that the staff have given him at Montesorri has been nothing short of exceptional. They go out of their way to make sure that your child's development is a priority. We have seen a massive progression in our son and feel there is no better place for him to be. If you want the best for your child this is the place to send them.

I viewed this nursery setting back in September 2022. It has got to be one of the worst experiences of my life.I attended alone to my viewing - which was instantly judged - I heard comments such as “do you not have a support system for him, does he not have a father figure”.When I commented on the staircase being freely accessible for kids to climb up and down without being monitored at all - the response was “I find that if a child falls down the stairs there is something wrong with their brain”. Again a VERY odd comment to make when toddlers are prone to tripping. My son was 18 months at the time, he is as only can be described as a little curious boy who is finding his way in the world. The day of the viewing he hadn’t slept well the night before and was getting tired as it was late morning so was a little bit of a handful for me, rushing around the exciting new rooms, picking different things up, exploring his new surroundings but having a tantrum if I held his hand to keep him nearby me. No different to 90% of children out there when put in a new place and told not to touch anything. Toddlers do not know patience, some more than others. The lady said “I think his behaviour is too far gone to be repaired looking at him” “He doesn’t seem to follow instructions / understand not to touch things and put them in his mouth”….(normal toddler behaviour.)At the time I was also pregnant with my second child and she said “does he know he’s having a brother?” Which I found to be a strange question as surely she should know dealing with children all day everyday at 18 months a child doesn’t have much concept of what is happening. She then went onto say “his behaviour will only get worse with the arrival of this sibling so good luck, if I was you I’d keep him with 1 carer and not socialise with other children so they can give him 1:1 support, I don’t think he’s suitable for here.Which by the way he is now 2.5 years old and there is nothing unusual about his behaviour. Toddlers grow at their own pace and not being able to communicate is very frustrating for them esp at 18 months old.Being a first time mum I left feeling alone, vulnerable, upset and also very scared about what was to come with the arrival of my second child. My child and I had been judged. I wish I had a voice back then but I wasn’t confident enough but I am now, I was treated awfully. We went onto find a caring nurturing nursery where he is now thriving.I 100% would not recommend this nursery to anyone.

The Bristol Montessori provides a really fun and happy learning environment for nursery-aged children. Our son loved every moment he spent there and always spoke very fondly of the staff and other children. During his time at The Bristol Montessori he gained hugely in confidence, became more independent, learnt lots of new skills and concepts, and enjoyed socialising with children both younger and older than him. The school is bright and spacious and has lots of wonderful learning materials as well as a lovely garden with trees, flowers and a little allotment. The teachers are extremely knowledgeable, dedicated, caring and respectful and we are thankful to them for making our son’s time there so special. Thank you!
