Littlehampton Cemetery

Visited Littlehampton cemetery this afternoon 20/7/2023 to take my elderly mother to see her late husbands and my dads plaque on the memorial wall , one side of the wall was not accessible, overgrown and neglected so mum had great difficulty walking along with a walking stick to see the plaque. Disgusting. The other side wasn’t to bad and had been mown . Why can’t the whole area be looked after the same . It was very upsetting.

Lovely setting. Well tended and cared for graves.Made a sad occassion a little more bearable.

Family is buried there on our family plot and apparently my aunty's grave even though she's not dead

The old part of the cemetery is in an appalling state. When trying to tend to my mothers grave, which is only three years old, and is also the family plot, I had to cut back the grass in order to reach the grave for upkeep. When repurchasing the grave I was told that the upkeep was my responsibility, how can I manage the upkeep when the surrounding grass is not cut and the cemetery is left in such an awful state. Apparently it is left this way to protect wildlife, I think it is rather that the council do not wish to pay for its upkeep.
