decent houses, wee but overpriced though

Buy elsewhere.As soon as we moved into our home we were faced with issues. 5 months later and we feel like we are still stuck at square one. Beyond angry and frustrated. Very upset and wish we never bought the house.Things are so bad we were passed to the head of customer care in the east. Radio silence from him and not much has been resolved.Gas venting issues, electrics not wired properly, whole house needed re-painted, tiles in all bathrooms have been re-done 3 or 4 times, fence in garden replaced, sub-contractors trespassing into our garden, sub-contractirs drawing on and vandalising our drive way, managers on our door step lying to us, no pipe in extractor fan yo take air outside it was just circulating in the walls... the list goes on!If you want months of stress then give them your money. As soon as they have it they run.

Lovely area, peaceful and quiet. New builds are very nice looking especially inside!

Had a great experience with Barratt. Firstly Rachael and Wendy at the sales office answered all my questions even the silly ones and were always friendly and welcoming. Secondly the site has been amazing with a special mention to Grant, any snags and he has sorted them for me quickly and professionally. There will always be snags but they get sorted quickly. The site staff whenever coming into my house were always polite and courtious. They even take their shoes off! The only downside is some subcontractors can finish paintwork etc off subpar which means they have to come back and correct. I cannot speak for any other site but i had a good experience at this site so far.

At least three developments along Gilmerton Station Road and somehow they can't manage to agree to finish the footpath along the side of the road itself.

Good access nice builds solid company

First of all the Sale advisor was so lovely... willing to hear and answer all my doubt and questions in any moment in person or by email (even If sometimes I've put so much pressure due to the short time I've got to have my house/move my stuff). The House has been built very well, it's solid, warm and big enough for me and my future doggie... I cannot imagine to have a better one. All the team is also willing to fix immediately some little issue if there are (scratches, missing parts like taps...). Amazing development close the crazy Edinburgh city life, bypass and East Lothian... fab for me to go to work with a peace of mind!!

Searching for a new house we decided to look at Barratt Homes in Gilmerton, Friday 22 October 2021. Parked in the car park, walked to the office where the representative was talking to someone in a high viz vest and hard hat.She came to the door and I asked if we could view the show homes. I was 'abruptly' told 'no - you need to make an appointment and there is a two week wait'. There was a sign on the fence which said if we're not busy we can assist you, she didn't look busy to us. My daughter said from what she could see from the car the assistant had the 'whole attitude' that wasn't going to be helpful. So Barratt Homes you can watch our pixie dust as we disappear into the distance with our ready to move in nothing to sell deposit.

Excellent customer service and site management team. Amanda was professional & really helpful, went above and beyond to chase up parties and ensured everything went smooth on the completion day. There are few snags from the professional snagging service provider which am yet to pass on to Barratt. I’m sure they will fix them all. Callum & Jonathan (site managers) are really helpful too. They even went ahead and gave professional advise to contractors I appointed to ensure their work is also up to standards. From my personal experience, I will surely recommend Barratt homes to my friends & family.Comments from snag professional: Good house with some cosmetic works (which is expected on any new built)
