Nice spot and good looking wine bar inside the arcade in Birmingham. Wine selection was OK, not outstanding. One of the white wines I had was a 40 pounds bottle Chardonnay and the wine was vinegar, essentially. I went for an urugauyan albariño which was hardly a pass. Unfortunately, it has the same system as Vagabond which I absolutely hate. You charge a card and with that card you select and go to little dispensers that pour wine. This makes the atmosphere super impersonal, cold and lacking in any kind of human interaction. It cuts opportunities to chat about wines and makes it very clear the place is only there for profit and not really for customer experience. The card is a trap for them to keep change and pounds you don't use. A shame.

Loki is an amazing place. So much more than a merchant's.The choice of wines, spirits and champagne is sublime and the knowledge the staff have of them is brilliant.They have 40 wines available to taste with a brilliant way of dispensing them. You are issued with a loki card and you can either put money on the card or pay as a tab at the end. You can have 25ml to 125ml so a glass or just a taste. BrilliantThey work with Anderson and Hill which is across the way in the Great Western Arcade. You can buy anti pasti to accompany your wine (which I'm yet to try but looks wonderful).But my favourite part are the tasting events. They are very entertaining, informative and relaxed. The first time I went I was a like nervous of what to expect but once Paul the resident wine expert started you on your wine tasting journey it became very apparent it wasn't the stuffy wine tasting experience I feared. Paul is funny friendly and very approachable and prepared for squiffy questions by the end of it. We have also done gin tastings here with Carl Hawkins also brilliant!!But my advice is try it for your self whether buying, trying and participating in a tasting!

Cheeky little spot in the arcade, quite small and cosy downstairs, bit more spacious and busy upstairs. We loaded a card up with £20 each and you just sample what you fancy from the wines on offer. Alternatively you can buy the bottle and they have various whiskey's and gin's etc.The charcuterie board and cheese boar were excellent so would definitely recommend them with your wine tasting.

Visited on 19/08/23, and the staff, especially the blonde lady with two plaits was a super star, super helpful and accommodating. Would defo recommend and although I am not actually a big wine drinker I would definitely return here. Also the olives are so tasty

We went here as the reviews looked great and the experience looked fun. We was not disappointed. We opted to sit outside as it was raining and the sound was lovely in the arcade and people watching.The experience of loading a special card and having a tester, small or medium glass of wine was great. Especially as we all drink different wines.Really was great.We had bread and humus, olives and charcuterie board.The olives wasn't too great but I highly highly recommend the meat platter especially with some of their red wines!!Was a beautiful ladies afternoon and well worth travelling from London to come to this place!

I was disappointed to find that they only had one bottle of Pathfinder left in stock on the website. It’s so hard to find the elixir in the UK and I had hoped to buy several bottles. I was pleased that Loki got in touch with me to remedy this.

Have been meaning to visit Loki for years and will definitely be back. Really friendly and knowledgeable staff, amazing selection of wines and the cheese boards, focaccia bread and nibbles are the perfect accompaniments!

Loki Wine Bar & Shop
This place is a hidden gem of Birmingham! We visited when it was a little quieter to check out Loki. The owner was so helpful in describing his personal favourite wines to sample, and he pulled out a very nice selection. We loaded our card and sampled all the recommended wines. We were very impressed with the wines and the concept! We chose our favourite sample and purchased a glass to enjoy with a very nice cheese board. We're absolutely coming back!

Cool place to buy and try wines by the glass. They have a comfortable upstairs area where you can order cheese and bread and charcuterie to try with the wines. The staff are super friendly as well and will recommend wines depending on your preferences. One of my favourite wine shops
