Some of the best food I’ve had in ages. Samosas were absolutely delicious and the mixed grill was superb - huge portion too!

Waited 3 hours for my food and when it finally arrived it was cold and was not edible. When I rang to ask they were no help and just blamed it on traffic but the driver said there was no traffic. So then tried to blame it on the cold weather to then turn around and say it was nothing to do with them and they could not help resolve the issue.First and last time ordering here and I am not impressed at all.

Absolute smasher of a place, when people say let's go for a curry it's usually Melton road sides or few desi pubs. All I say I'd venture out to this place, you will not be disappointed, great food, limited beers on tap but not too bad given the size of the place. Fantastic service. One of the best set out menu's I've seen in the UK not just Leicester. Looking forward to coming back soon.

Hidden Gem of Indian restaurants in Leicester, the staff are friendly the place is clean. The food was very tasty I must say and good portion size. Would highly recommend, booking advisable as it does get busy. If you not been you must try.

Went yesterday for a family birthday with a party of 10. We were 30 mins late for our 1730 booking due to how bad the traffic was. We have been several times before to The Taj. This experience was quite poor. When I initially booked, I could barely hear the lady due to the noise and had to keep repeating myself to her. I wasn’t told we had to vacate the table by 2000 until we got there in spite of calling ahead to tell them we were running late. The food was good, But the whole experience was rushed and in all honesty we felt like numbers and not customers. The wine selection is very poor indeed. They only had Bearfoot Wine and none of us wanted it. The staff are lovely and the food is good. But this experience was marred by the rush, rush attitude. We happily spent £250 but not sure if we will return.

We planned a family dinner at the taj I have had takeaways from this restaurant a number of times but this time we decided to seat inside, staff are friendly and food was amazing I am a vegetarian I have to say best Tarka dhal and rice also the veg sizzler is really good . Large selection of drinks and you can’t go wrong with it . Will definitely be returning in the near future keep up the tasty food and friendly service !

I have had a take away from here before and it was good so decided to come here on a Friday night, rang up and booked table with no wait so good and lady on phone was nice.The place itself inside is clean nice with fire plave on the TVs, the only thing I would change is that it was a tad too bright inside for a late night meal.Food itself was absolutely amazing and came out reasonable quick and the service was good. This place is now my favourite place for Indian food and we were able to doggy bag left overs which I had the following day A++ on the food.
