Liz and the team provide first class care to find a tenant and to arrange all the details, they look after your property and the tenant during the contract, nothing is too much trouble for them and they take care of absolutely everything for you, cant thank them or recommend them enough

I find it hard to put into words how incensed I am with the service received in support of the sale of my recent property.Having contacted Properts to discuss them supporting me with the sale I explained my situation and received an estimate in support along with their terms and conditions. The estimated fees listed were there charges at £499, TT fees of £50, official copies of £6, copy documents from £3 – all of these fees applicable to vat. If you were to add all of these up and allow a generous amount of £50 for copy documents etc this would bring the bill to approximately £605 + vat i.e. £726 total. The final bill a whopping £1354 = vat i.e. £1624.80!Whilst I appreciate that many of the additional fees are listed in their terms and conditions (where in hindsight I should have been more thorough!) and they would say from a legal standpoint that they are clearly stated in their terms and I signed up to them, I feel completely hoodwinked as their initial estimate should have taken into account my situation which they knew in advance of providing the estimate i.e.I had a mortgage account to pay off – their fee for settling this £300 + vatI was using an Estate Agent – only 1 TT fee was listed on the estimate at £50 + vat, whereby they charge for 3 (mortgage company, estate agent & my balance) which was an incredible £165 + vatFile storage on completion which they say is a standard charge and this is £100 + vat – not listed on the estimateIf using this Solicitor I would recommend that prior to engaging them you should complete a full analysis of the potential bill. I am lodging a formal complaint and plan to seek further advice through the ombudsman as I feel the estimate was misleading as they knew certain facts in advance.

Properts took on my conveyancing case after JWD collapsed, which they didn't have to do. Prompt replies and adherence to the timescales set, thorough work and a job well done. Thank you Rebecca, Sam, Ryan, Stephen and the rest.

If I could give no stars I would. Didn’t use these as my own solicitors - thankfully but they were sadly part of a chain of solicitors who held up the purchase of our new home.Due to complete that day and absolute radio silence from Properts, no response to phone calls or emails so unprofessional. Even if they weren’t ready they could have given a heads up.Personally I’d avoid and look elsewhere if you want a professional service and to not be let down on the day of and loose lots of money due to holiday and removals being booked. Absolute disgrace.

Wasn’t granted permission to speak to a solicitor for the first month, only a “manager” who had 0 knowledge of conveyancing by his own admission, but repeatedly reassured me my case was simple and uncomplicated and I had no need to worry. This was incorrect. Finally received contact from a solicitor, who wasn’t even aware of the process this purchase needed to go through. Properts announced multiple times we were ready to exchange and complete, gave moving dates which triggered financially implicating actions including taking my deposit and mortgage funds, then pulled the plug and kept pushing back as they absolutely were not ready to exchange. I was left sleeping on friends sofa’s with everything I owned in storage as a result.Properts aided the other side to make amends, then invoiced me a further £900 for this work. I asked to discuss this cost, as I felt it very unfair I was being charged. Jane Propert agreed to discuss the day before exchange & completion. Before Jane managed to pick up the phone, she got her assistant to email and hold a metaphorical gun to my head, saying I pay it or they won’t complete my case…a couple of days to find £900, is that fair?Post-completion we tried to discuss and resolve this issue…the general manager has avoided my emails to arrange a call for 3 weeks.

Be warned - we were quoted £800 as fees for remortgaging and were charged £1700 (after a straightforward remortgaging to a new lender). We were asked to pay the amount on a Friday before completing on the following Monday, effectively meaning there is no time to challenge the cost without delaying (which will end up costing even more). As the hidden costs are agreed to when signing terms of business, there is no way of challenging but obviously feels incredibly misleading and expensive for what it is.Additionally, communication was poor with emails not responded to and only getting in touch when they needed something. Wouldn’t have minded this too much if we hadn’t then been charged such a significant amount.

Lack of professionalism in general, especially in written correspondence from the estate agency. No idea what the solicitors are like, but likely wouldn’t use them after dealing with the estate agents there.
