We recently used Mackbuild for our loft conversion. From the outset, James was responsive and helpful - unlike some of the other builders we asked to quote.This continued right the way through the build - James was always on hand to answer our questions, sort things out and keep the project on track.The Mackbuild team are all excellent - friendly and very polite - which is really important when they are working in your home over a three month period.This is a local business, which was really important to me, and if anything arose, James and team were on site pretty much immediately, which is very reassuring. We probably saw James most days throughout the build - he will call in to check up on the team and on progress, which we really liked.James also uses some excellent tradespeople - the plumber, electrician and tiler were all excellent, and we would definitely use them again.The job was completed on time and is high quality - we are really pleased with the finished room.Based on our experience, I would definitely recommend Mackbuild and would use them again if I needed work doing.Thanks a lot James and team.

Mackbuild were fantastic in regards to assisting us with a kitchen refurb. James and his team were competitive with their prices and the work completed was of a high standard. The team were always prompt to arrive and left the jobs clean and tidy. Very happy with the overall work carried out. We would definitely recommend this company and when next undertaking work we will use again.

We used Mackbuild for our extension and remodelling of our kitchen. From start to finish we couldn’t have asked for a better service. Unlike other experiences we have had in the past James was always there on the end of the phone. He would arrive each morning and provide us with a rundown of what was happening each day. James years of experience in the building trade was so valuable to us. He had some fantastic ideas to help us keep within our budget without compromising quality. The finish to the job was perfection and James would cast an eye over everything to ensure he was happy. The team were absolutely brilliant, they swept up and hoovered every day (and even washed my floor). They were so thoughtful and courteous to my neighbours. This lead to even my neighbours using mackbuild as they were so impressed. Most people are happy to have their building work finished but we honestly really missed them when the work was done. Always lovely to see this wonderful team out and about around for a chat and a wave. I wouldn’t hesitate to use again and couldn’t recommend enough.

It was an absolute pleasure having the Mackbuild team build our loft conversion. I couldn't have asked or wished for a better team of highly skilled builders/tradesmen to complete this project. They have been an absolute dream to have here, they're all pleasant, respectful, and highly efficient, I'm amazed at how quickly and expertly they have undertaken and completed this project. I also want to mention how expertly James and his team dealt with the issues we had that cropped up during the build and worked tirelessly to problem solve and accomplish a suitable resolution that fitted with what we wanted, what could be done, and regulations.James was absolutely amazing throughout- always there to answer any questions and was fantastic at communicating what was happening and when, as well as joining the team - especially on the big days of the project - steel day, stairs and door move day & wall removal day! A really organised, nice, genuine guy, who, you can tell, loves his job and works hard to keep his clients and team happy.Charlie and Josh (carpenters) - who were on site most days, were fantastic, highly skilled and work well together, we felt so confident in their work and ability and again were a pleasure to have here working on this project - always smiling, laughing and working hard. Nice guys & easy to chat to/ask questions about the project, professional and respectful.Lenny & Alan - were on site more towards the end of the project, again a huge pleasure to have on site, very skilled workers, pleasant, happy to have a chat/answer questions, hard workers, very efficient & tidy.Lee - fantastic brickie, his work is amazing and again pleasant, tidy and super efficient!Bill - hard working labourer, tidy and gets stuck in wherever he's needed.The guys were all considerate of us needing to live amongst the build and always tidied up after themselves, put up dust sheets, cleared away tools etc and left the place organised for the next day (especially important as we have a toddler). You can easily see the team are all happy in their jobs, love the work they do, and are happy working for Mackbuild which makes such a big difference!They were on time every morning and wouldn't start making noise until 8am, working until, sometimes gone 4pm (which in my experience is unheard of!) They never expected anything at all - never an expectation of food or drink ever came from them, but I was always happy to offer beverages and biscuits for which they were all grateful for- again very polite and respectful - always a thank you from them all.You can see that James has worked hard to find good, quality contractors to carry out the other parts of the builds such as plumbers, electricians, roofers, plasterers, scaffolders etc as each one we've come into contact with have been to the same standard as James and his guys, both in their skill and character.Contractors:Dave - roofer - super skilled, polite, respectful, efficient.Ben - Plumber - excellent plumber, chatty, clearly enjoys his job, a pleasure to have here working. Sorted out our boiler move, radiators and bathroom as well as giving advice on the thermostat.Will - Electrician - did amazing work with moving our fuse box, helping me with the site visit from UK power network, tidying all our electrics as well as putting in all our lights, switches, plug points etc. Another lovely guy, who is a pleasure to have work on the project.Tom - Plasterer - work is fantastic along with Lenny's, again super efficient, a pleasure to have here, plaster looks so smooth and has a fantastic finish, it's obvious he knows his trade like the back of his hand!Initially, I felt nervous and anxious with the build (which I think is normal) however once the work had begun I felt I could put complete trust in the guys and have felt calm throughout the project. I haven't minded them being in the house at all (which I thought I would).I cannot thank the guys enough for their work and 100% recommend Mackbuild and will definitely be using them for any future building work.

Having selected Mackbuild for a large project we was nervous for the 9 months ahead of us but as soon as work had started our minds was put at ease that we had made the right decision.From the outset the team was professional, approachable and hard working delivering a high standard. Very accommodating with our young family involving our children in the build making them feel part of the project too.James was ever present on site ensuring a smooth link up with all sub contractors. No build can go ahead without onsite complications and James and the Mackbuild refreshing approach made overcoming these easy and hassle free.We can’t thank Mackbuild enough for delivering our family home within budget and timescale.

This builder undertook for us a major building project over 5 months. The aim to provide a new lounge kitchen diner with underfloor heating and future proof our house as I have Parkinsons. This included creating two wetrooms, a major rewire, new water and gas mains a new boiler and patio. My wife and I continued to live in the house which was challenging for us all. However this builder established a professional yet friendly relationship. He attended daily to supervise his team, liaise with me on progress and discuss with us an ever evolving plan of works. Finance and stage payment invoices were well administered. Overall we could not be happier that we chose this builder and had no hesitation in inviting our builder James Mackie and his partner Heidi to our family and friends bbq to show everyone what they had created for us.

Highly recommend! James and his team recently converted our loft creating a beautiful room and ensuite bathroom of the highest quality. They were friendly, professional and thorough. They were always available to answer questions, make suggestions and had good communication throughout. We will definitely get back in touch with James for any future projects.
