Claws

My family ordered from the Claws hut outside seating area in Brixham yesterday and what I can describe as utter stupidity from those who work inside is an understatement. Prawns or crab looking delicious on display, place an order. Get no ticket, then wait at seats as the young girls then say we'll bring it to you then proceed to deal with all the take away orders, and completely forget yours. We asked twice where is our order, oops forgotten was told. Half hour later for a sandwich which literally takes mins to put together arrives and mine is still missing, to me saying there's still one more. It then arrives in what is the soggiest bread on the outside like they've wiped the counter and it's running wet to then place the bread on top of the water, filled it up, cut it really badly to serve it and say sorry for delay. Whilst we watched a large family group turn up and get served almost instantly. The girls have zero system inside the hut and need management to sort this asap. It really isn't tasking, write up the order, pin it to board, work thro the orders in turn, serve. What a joke show it was to sit and observe for 30 mins or more. We also weren't the only ones. A lady at the back I noticed go up twice to say where is my bread after ordering a pot and no bread arrived. 10mins later she goes up and collects bread slices herself. I appreciate it's busy at weekends but sort it out. It's not supposed to leave customers writing such negative reviews. We want to have enjoyed it and left a good one. Impossible not to let others know. Think before you order. There is others in the harbour so I'd say on this experience go elsewhere. Or risk a joke show.

Just got off the ferry from Torquay and my Korean partner was desperate for Whelks. Very good taste and friendly service

This is a simple extension of the Claws restaurant opposite and comprises a few tables penned in on the harbour side serviced out of a cabin kitchen/stall which serves cold dishes and snacks from the Claws menu. It's a basic set up and sea food prices rarely seem a bargain, but that said our sea food platter was almost more than the two of us could eat. Extra bread and dressing etc was happily provided and they are even licensed if you want beer or wine, even fizz. All the seafood is straight out of the sea, served in an unpretentious manner, it tastes great and the view from harbour side really makes it special.

Situated in the harbour, within an easy stroll of the fishmonger and the bustling heart of town, this little jem is well worth a visit. We had whitebait and crab sandwiches. The tea was lovely, but for such a large pot, had surprisingly little fluid inside. That minor quibble aside we can highly recommend Claws.

Had a tasty crab sandwich and fruit scone here,dog friendly outside and inside,the cooking smells are fantastic, would definitely recommend and return.

Have visited before and todays was as good as ever. The oysters are the best we have had anywhere, and the prawn cocktail highly recommended. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you.

Great service, excellent food. Prices very reasonable for the quality they offer. Very tasty and fresh seafood. Nice pot of tea too :) Highly recommend this place if in Brixham.

Another wonderful lunch today by the harbour . Excellent service, well presented, and very enjoyable . Will return again soon

Amazing little cafe, specialising in seafood dishes (see menu picture). We stopped in for a hot drink at eleven, and then went back for a lovely dinner of scallops, prawn cocktail, and crabmeat sandwiches, polished off with a glass of wine.Excellent service from Anna and her young colleague, absolutely first class, and such good prices.This place came highly recommended to us by a guest in the Torquay Hotel wer were staying in, and having dined here I can only say that recommendation was very well deserved.This will be very close to the top of our list of eateries should we find ourselves in this area again in the future.Try it for yourself, you will NOT be disappointed.

We love this place. We found it while on holidays in 2023 and been back every time we vist. We have dined in and out. The food is amazing, this time we shared a seafood platter for £23 pounds per couple we could not finish it. Every thing was amazing fresh. Staff are great we will be back xx
