Ware Priory Lido

I had to take off 1 star because of the showers being a bit the worse for wear. The experience of swimming here this summer has been wonderful. I've even been bird watching whilst doing backstroke. You can't beat that feeling of freedom seeing the sky above.

Truly magical place, such a wonderful experience. Best to book in advance, booking system easier once booked 1st time as can save your details. Swims start early weekdays and you get 90 mins. Lido is clean, heated and not too deep. Easy access stairs as you enter and 3 lanes in the week (Slow, medium and fast lane) Always feels room to swim, sometimes clears out near end of session so you can 'starfish'. Friendly bunch of swimmers

Like to know why the refurbishment has made the pool smaller and shallow. There now is no deep end. All they have done for the refurbishment is half fill the pool with concrete.

A lovely place to swim. The pool is clean and kept at a perfect temperature. The staff are great, efficient and really helpful. The booking system works well and allows you to select lane swimming or a family session. It’s great that the sessions are an hour and a half long, plenty of time for a long swim with a bit of flexibility so not everyone arrives at the same time. The changing rooms are absolutely fine, one for men, one for women and one for families. I think there are plans to improve them next winter but in the meantime they’re perfectly okay. I feel really lucky to have such a lovely facility nearby.

Highly recommend. I visited with a friend for an adults only swim session on a Sunday.The pool was a good temperature, and the facilities to get changed after or before were great.Fantastic value for money as well. Will be coming again!

I was shocked to be charged £19.50 for 3 adults to sit on the grass to supervise the children. I could maybe accept a small charge but to pay an adult swim price just to sit waiting for my paying child to swim is madness! I live in ware and want to support this venue but this is daylight robbery!

Great pool and staff although I think changing areas should be updated shower area poor, and should be kept cleaner, floor covered in hair.

Beautiful outdoor pool.Clean changing rooms although the ladies was rather smelly and the shower heads need sorting they're useless. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Definitely going back.

I love swimming outside so it was a treat after 40 years to return to this pool. I enjoyed my swim and it is great to swim outdoors. I've knocked points off for some issues with facilities that are easily fixed. Overall the place was clean and enoyable but....Neither the showers in the family or the mens changing rooms worked. My partner and I went separate ways at the end of the session and had the same experience with water dribbling down the wall. Nearly all the swimmers who vacated the pool at the end of the 7.30-9.00am session were women so I assumed the water was being drawn into the womens changing room?The loo in the family area had a half used wet toilet roll on top of the dispenser (hopefully from wet swim hands), no dry paper in dispensers, a fair bit of dirty paper on the floor in that area and the toilet door lock(s) could do with a clean/disinfecting.I will go back in the hope this was not the norm and that the showers get fixed.

Very relaxed atmosphere staff very helpful. They have lockers for personal items. The water's temperature was just right.
