Lovely place for an impromptu lunch ! Dog friendly with heated seating area undercover ! Food was delicious and freshly cooked, not a huge selection and quite pricey though. Area outside for children to play, plenty of parking and a shop too. Would visit again.

Good spot for a big breakfast after the local Parkrun on Mersea Island. Quality meal but quite pricey. Entertaining adjoining shop with fun knickknacks and collectibles.

Tastefully presented cafe with shop, food is prompt and recommend going when the sun is out and sit outside. You can book inside and in the glazed area (table service) with the marque first in, first served but you will have to order from the counter. Large sandpit area for the kiddies to have fun.

Excellent place for lunch, nice and modern. Shop and restaurant/cafe is lovely.Lovely staff with smiles all around. Very busy during mine time of visit (12pm) start of lunch. Lots of staff. Sat out in the conservatory area which is very nice, however sun is very hot when directly on you, and bees around the table area which is understandable.Small menu to choice from. Food is very nice, small portions and little overpriced.Would visit again for sure.Excellent parking available on the barn.

First off a big thank you to the barn. I called before my visit to ask if I could park a bus in there car park. As a coach/bus driver facilities are limited when on the road. I had a job local with nothing on site so headed to the barn for somewhere warm to sit and have a hot lunch. The staff are lovely and friendly and served a lovely breakfast. I felt famous when being asked for photos with the bus outside there beautiful building too. Many thanks and will call in again soon.

We recently visited during a quick visit to the island, plenty of parking on arrival. The shop is on the left as you go in and the other part is a restaurant / cafe. All seemed well stocked etc, and nice and tidy. Don't expect it to be cheap, as it's not - but you sort of expect that when you come to these places. Will likely visit again if in area - especially as I noticed they do some activities for kids etc.

Last time I visited was during the pandemic, was great then & decided to take parents down there with their dog as listed 'dog friendly' & they sure are. Food was delicious as before & do recommend the Barn Breakfast with black pudding. Service was definitely polite & professional whilst friendly too. Definitely be back soon.

A great place to eat and a well stocked shop for browsing home produce etc.The menu might be small but seems to have something for everybody. The food is cooked fresh and there is a daily specials board to make it varied. The location has a reasonable sized carpark and is disabled/wheelchair friendly throughoutDefinitely deserves a five star rating!

Stopped for breakfast. Food was good. I had french toast with bacon and maple syrup. Bit on the pricey side - it does have a captive market from the nearby campsites and holiday parks. Lots of seating inside, in a conservatory and outside too. Space outside for kids to play. Interesting shop attached with lots of great produce from chocolate and fudge to pizzas and gifts, books and even a Mersea Island stick of rock. Good sized parking area outside.

Beautiful looking place but unfortunately we left soon after arriving due to a limited menu , wasps everywhere as soon as you sit down and couldn't go inside as we had our dog plus young staff pretty much ignored us. Shame the menu was shortened for the summer but the prices where off putting kids Mac and cheese for £9 !!! Shame but we drove 5 minutes away and had a great meal at the fox inn.We did sit in the glass house but it was swarming with wasps , we sat there for a while before a member of staff even came over with menus and that was only because we asked and it wasn't very busy .I worked in the catering industry for 20 years and this was not impressed hence why we left
