My wife and I have been in Melrose for a weeks holiday. It is our last day and treated ourselves to a wonderful meal at the restaurant. Staff very friendly atmosphere bril and food excellent. Thank you

Doesn't look much from the outside on a dark night but amazing once you walk through the door. You're warmly greeted by staff and ushered passed the open kitchen and wee bar through to beautifully decorated dining area. Heaps of choice on the menu and a few specials of the day. We opted for pizza and pasta special. Both were absolutely delicious. Big glasses of cold Peroni on tap and Italian merlot washed the food down nicely. Service was friendly and efficient. Definitely will be back again.

Monte Cassino Melrose Restaurant
Visited this restaurant with some work colleagues for a evening meal. Everything about this place was amazing the food was outstanding and the service was top notch. All the staff were super friendly and very welcoming. Definitely worth visiting this little gem if your around the area.Also there is plenty of parking at the restaurant too. We plan to visit again next time we are working near 100%

Having had an awful experience at the Paolo restaurant in Galashiels, we were beginning to think we would never find a good Italian restaurant near our new home in the Borders, then along came Monte Casino!! What a wonderful gem this place is.. the food was outstanding, the staff were really friendly, the service excellent and the atmosphere was cosy and non pretentious. Without a doubt, this is our new “Go To” place to eat. Outstanding!

Not so impressed with the food when you expect authentic Italian. But good enough. More impressive was the staff serving us. Patient and service minded indeed. Quite large place with nice interior. A short walk from Melrose plaza. Gluten-free alternatives.

I’ve been here a few times for dinner, and food service and drinks have always been amazing! Tonight was out for a walk, kids fell asleep in the buggy so seized the opportunity to get a drink and something to eat! Despite the kitchen being closed (it was after 9) we were given a variety of nibbles (olives, breads, even bruschetta) and got some lovely wine! Food and hospitality is second to none! (And outdoor seating area is perfect for a wee wine and bite to eat) Absolutely amazing place- so kind and welcoming

If you want great authentic Italian food cooked to perfection by Italian chefs and served by Italian staff then this is the best place to go. The food here is amazing and this is up there with a restaurant we visited in Rome. I cannot praise this place highly enough. Just excellent.

Probably the most unauthentic Italian in the world.All the photographs on the 'wall of fame' are either fake or the people in them are a shocking judge of good authentic cuisine.It did not begin well with the awful unfriendly false Italian accented waiter.The food was between very poor and average at best.The overall experience was very far from value for money and if there was a genuine Italian in this establishment they escaped us.We will never return and could never recommend this establishment.
